A couple of days ago I made a very relevant post about the Big Ten and Pac 12 conferences canceling their 2020 football seasons. I was promptly informed by one of the administrators that my post was unrelated to softball and therefore would be removed from that specific forum. I was also invited to repost my advisory in The Pub.
A couple of things should be noted. My post WAS related to softball. Anytime you eliminate the revenue stream from one of the only two sports that actually generate a profit for the college, it's going to have an impact on the budgets of all of the other programs that consistently operate at a loss. Like softball for example.
With the exception of men's basketball, football is the primary benefactor for all other college sports programs. It pays for the scholarships offered to female athletes, as well as their coach's salary. If football falls, it's only logical that it will have a negative impact on all of the other sports programs down the food chain, including women's softball.
Perhaps more relevant to this conversation, there hasn't been a legitimate discussion about softball in ANY of these forums for the past six months. The only thing people are talking about is politics and the coronaviris pandemic, so who are we kidding here? Unlike some of you, I don't jump on The Bucket to talk baseless smack. I only come here to drop useful information on those who wish to become informed. Some of you just don't want to know the truth.
Which brings me to my final point. And yes, this also relates to softball. If any of you coaches down in Southern CA ever want to see another organized softball tournament held in your neck of the woods, you had better mobilize and stop this group of kooksticks that want to perpetuate the coronavirus in Orange County. They are called "Saturate OC". I have provided a link for your education. This group is 100% Caucasian, uneducated and clueless as the day is long. These are the self-absorbed A-holes that are keeping your kids from going to school this fall and playing fall softball.
