Subject: Army Times Poll -- Presidential Race

Somehow I missed seeing this in the New York Times, Washington Post, or Rolling Stone.

In case you missed the October 8 issue of the Army Times, here are the results of the Army Times' poll of Military personnel regarding the upcoming election (in percent):

J. S. McCain B. H. Obama

Overall 68% 23%

Army 68% 23%

Navy 69% 24%

Air Force 67% 24%

Marines 75% 18%

Retirees 72% 20%

White Non-Hispanic 76% 17%

Hispanic 63 % 27%

Black/African-American 12% 79%

Enlisted 67% 24%

Officers 70% 22%

It seems that the only group that supports Obama is the Black/African-American service members. Surely their vote is not based on color instead of issues...I don't understand! See the results in chart format here:

So who votes based on race?

If McCain gets 12% of the black vote I'll eat my hat. He won't get 5%.

Remember 12% of military black vote (minus Colon Powell), the civilian population, for sure less than 5%.

That's right it isn't about race, if you remember when Clinton ran it was like 10% to 82% (oh sorry, I forgot, he was called the first black president)

Well I am sure that is a lot better than where Bush has had his head the last 8 years. Hopefully we will have a President that is actually voted in! Funny how they are getting away from the electric voting machines that have been suspected of giving Bush so many ghost votes in the last election.

Come on, the hanging chad in 2000 brought on the electric voting machine in 2004, and the democrats still didn't win, therefore the system is flawed (again). What is next, dipping your finger in purple ink when you vote?

What is next, is for the individuals that are in place to serve this country as civil servants to stop trying to cheat the very system that built this country. Hanging chad is just a technical way of cheating the voting system - a hole punched in the card is a vote whether or not if the damn thing is hanging on by a single thread. The system isn't flawed just too easily manipulated when properly motivated, if it went against you what would you be saying then... that it was un-American?

I come on this thing for softball, not to read your political crap. As you know we can go on forever with this.
