This is about the 5th time I have gotten one of these from a friends email that has been jacked:

Hello,

This message may be coming to you as a surprise but I really need your urgent assistance. I had an unannounced trip to Spain. Sorry for not informing you that I was traveling, please accept my apology. I was having a great time until last night when i got mugged and lost all cash and cellphone. It was a terrible experience, I got hit on the head and i was hurt on my hand. Anyway, I'm still alive and that's what's important. Right now i want you to loan me $1,850 or any amount you can afford, i promise to pay back next week. I really need it to sort out things here. It has been a bad experience.

My mishap has made me sick and tired, please i have my hopes on you, can i give you the details to send the money?

Got one recently from a "buddy" in the Phillipines with the same story. The cool thing was that his grammar and spelling had improved drastically! Of course, I sent the money to help him out.

Yep have got a few of those from people I haven't spoke with in a couple years. Funny I am sure I am the last hope. Nice try.
The latest one I have got multiple times in the last 2 weeks is a recorded call to my cell from my "Credit Card Company" offering to lower my interest rate. If I am interested just press one and enter my card number for account verification and an operator will be with me shortly. Pretty clever as they never mention names just ask for info.
Much more sneaky than the "You've won the lottery" or "I'm rich and need your help getting my money into your country" emails.
