Costco ran out of gas

Off topic. Home for jokes and other misc. stuff.
Keep it reasonable.

I was at the Azusa Costco yesterday afternoon and they were only selling premium gas, they had run out of regular gas and they were almost out of premium. I asked the gas attendant what was going on and he said that they probably wouldn't get a shipment until the weekend. Apparently there is a shortage because of some refinery problems. I saw Shell was at $4.45 and 76 at $4.39 for regular gas.

I hope all the travel ball families gas up before the weekend, I heard prices may be up to $4.60 by the weekend and Costco may be out.

Btw, the Costco was charging the reg price for premium because they ran out of reg, $4.05, another Costco deal!

I guess the oil companies figured with all of the focus on the debates they would just slip it in this week

Don't blame the oil co's - blame CARB. If Cali would use gas blended to the same spec as most of the rest of the country you wouldn't have this problem. CARB mandates that their "summer spec" gas be sold through the end of October (see the link above by Dugout Dad) and that effectively prohibits suppliers from providing gas from out of state in the event that the in-state sources have issues. Plenty of gas here in Texas at $3.51/gal today, but CARB says you can't use it.

BINGO, you are absolutely right, h4p. Just give me 87 unleaded gas without the EPA mandated, bullshit additives. Abolish the EPA.

Was just in Mass. gas was 3.69 per/gal 3.85 in RI- and these are liberal states but even they figured out that using a common blend and keeping gas taxes within some reason makes sense.

I wish the EPA would enforce a "national" blend- don't mide the EPA(I like clean air etc) Just wish they would be consistend with their rules and enforcement

that explains a lot. I always wondered why we have some of the highest gas prices around and live only miles from the refineries.
