Back in the "olden days" it was simply diagnosed as "hyperactivity" and the most common drug prescribed was ritalin. My brother had this diagnosis when he was about 6 years old. He is now 48. For the record he is still hyperactive but hasn't taken meds for it since he was about 14.

Back in the "olden days" it was called boys being boys and we didn't have any drugs just recess and playing outside after school until it got dark. Or the Principles paddle

A couple years ago ... I saw a State by State breakdown on how many cases of ADD and ADHD were diagnosed, or over diagnosed ... I'm sorry to say that VA was high on the list if not the highest ... I believe that it is our F-uped society trying to put a label on their inablilty to get their kids proper diet & exercise and trying to sedate them with pepsi and videos/dvds ... but wtf do I know ...

I didn't know that the boy was ADHD. I saw the parents on TV, this morning.

Some reports say that the players were denied water, others say that is not true.

His father was present at the practice and did nothing to help his son get immediate help.

How can there be no autopsy?

I find it hard to believe that the grand jury found cause to prosecute this one.

I should state that my prayers are with the young man's family and with the coaches.
