Throwing away my vote in California It makes no difference for president, other than popular vote numbers. But need to vote down all the new tax props.

As a former history major I would love to see it, but the country is polarized enough and I think we could do without!

Living in a state with the most electoral votes, but where the outcome is always a foregone conclusion, a tie would be the 2nd best result. With a tie, the House elects the President and the Senate elects the Veep. A split ticket, Romney/Biden, would be the catalyst to amending the 12th Amendment and eliminating the antiquated Electoral College.
