Best Album Period

Off topic. Home for jokes and other misc. stuff.

Okay...these things are getting some play, so let's try this one. What is the best album ever recorded, period?

Ground Rules:
--1 submission only--so don't just blurt out a bunch of albums. Decide which one is your personal favorite, and post that one only. Violators of this rule will be publicly excoriated. Or politely reminded. Or I won't say anything, but I'll think mean thoughts.

--Preferably accompany your selection with some commentary that will make us all want to run out and buy it. Here's where you might surreptitiously sneak in mentions of your also-rans: "I would have chosen X or Y, but ultimately Z has more staying power..."

--No compilations allowed...which means no live albums either. Studio recordings only.

I personally don't know whether I'll be able to pick one.
There is no charge for awesomeness
...or attractiveness.

If I had to pick one, it would have to be Metallica's Black album. I grew up with this album. In my opinion, every single song on that album is a hit.

Some of my other close calls were Alice In Chain's Dirt, Pearl Jam's Ten, Skid Row's Slave to the Grind, U2's Joshua Tree, Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, GNR Apetite For Destruction, Prince Purple Rain, Run-DMC Raising Hell, NWA Straight Outta Compton, Radiohead OK Computer, Nine Inch Nails Downward Spiral, and Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream....Oops, my 2nd favorite of all time.....Rage Against The Machine The Battle Of Los Angeles.....Don't think I left anyone out......

Axis: Bold as Love, The Jimi Hendrix Experience

If you ask any of the artists of the bands you will name, they will list this album as an influence. Prince, U2,GNR, Rage, Zep, Sabbath, etc

Pure poetry.....

Tool - Undertow...a close second.....Fricken Intense, but not as timeless.
I'm gonna take this right foot, and I'm gonna whop you on that side of your face...and you wanna know something? There's not a damn thing you're gonna be able to do about it!

If I had to pick one it would be ....and I won't cheat by listing a bunch of other of my faves!!

The Wall-Pink Floyd

Came out when I was a senior in high school and I played the grooves out of this 2 record set. My mom wouldn't allow me to play it whenever she was home because she thought it was the most depressing thing she had ever heard, which made me love it even more.
