If I had it to do over, I would seriously look at another pad that can do more. The windows pad has a commercial now that points out the differences, including a big price diff. No ports to plug anything into the Ipad, and there are serious charging issues. The only way I can charge mine is in the car.

I'd get the new 4th Gen IPAD.

iPad 2, not the retina display. From reading up on the charging issues, it seems a common problem among the newer ones because it just takes more juice to charge the bigger, faster operating systems.

I have the 4 no retina display, it is only 3g but it works fine for me.
I uses coaches eye on it to video at bats- really cool
I use game changer and can get 3 games on a full charge if thats all I am using it for. I tend to read between games so I do have a car charger and I would agree it is slow to recharge.
I dont have any experience with the windows pad.
I bought this one with the intention of keeping scoore and taking videos for players to look at, it does bother me that there is really no USB port that is a bummer.

Good luck

Actually I switched from an Iphone which I had for awhile to an Adroid. It was amazing - the software worked, the updates worked, never crashed the phone, never wiped out the phone. And Apple's great customer service when I called to ask if they would help with 'recovering' the data on the phone was "I hope you backed it up". The only other device we had around here that was corrupted during a software upgrade, was my kid's ipod.

To put music on my android, I only have to copy it from my computer, like anything else in the world you need to copy. I don't have to use their iTunes trash.
