totally agree - though watching grass grow and watching paint dry are both so much more exciting - its hard to decide which. A number of my uncles golfed, but what they really did was just drink, it just happened to be on a golf course with a motorized beer chest, they called them golf carts. I found it was more environmentally healthy to just drink, being the green guy that I am. Having said all that, I have watched Tiger play, he is the only one I have ever watched play golf that seems to enjoy it.

Once you've played hundreds of rounds, and hit tens of thousands of golf shots, you gain an appreciation for how amazingly talented these players are...and golf becomes a great spectator sport.

Same could be said for any sport. Hockey is supposed to be the best spectator sport of them all...but I can't stand watching it. I don't know the players, don't know the rules, and don't come from a part of the country where hockey is played much.
But hey, I like watching all sorts of weird stuff. Bring on the Tour de France, F1 racing, ski jumping, etc.
Lots of people think baseball and softball are too boring...and lots of kids now play soccer and other sports instead because they find it too boring to play.

Hockey is great live ( very very fast )... where you can see whats happening all over the ice ... but I don't care much for watching it on TV ... I did actually try to watch a Cricket match in Salem, VA. last year when we had about 3 hours to kill between games ... the only part that I think I understood was that in between 'rounders' ( I think that's what they call an inning ) that the participants appeared to be having a picnic of sorts ... and they often cheered when I didn't think anything happened ... cornfusin for sure ! ... I only played golf a few times and had about the same strategy as Donnies Uncles ... I used to love when the "Wide World Of Sports" was on every Saturday ... probably before your time, but it was responsible for introducing the US to many different things that we didn't get to see 'pre-cable' ... I've watched the X-games and things like that ... maybe someday I'll be able to sit still long enough to watch golf ... but God I hope not
