Ugh,...don't even get me (or the rest of Houston) started. It's just pathetic.
Awhile back someone suggested they change the rules of football so that field goals would be worth a variable number of points from 1 to 3 based on distance. The surprising part was that a shorter field goal would be worth more than a longer one, in order to more highly reward those teams that were able to drive deep into their opponent's territory. So, for example, a field goal inside the red zone would be worth 3 pts,, those from beyond the 20 to say the 40 would be worth 2 points, and those from outside the 40 would be worth only 1 point. I think this would cause more coaches to go for it on 4th down, and (especially after last night) I'd like to see that more than all the FG's you get in the game today.
