So cute and shreds on guitar at 8

Off topic. Home for jokes and other misc. stuff.
Keep it reasonable.

Just because she's nearly the same size as her instrument doesn't mean this Japanese girl's metal solo won't melt your face clean off. Li-sa-X has only been on earth for eight years, but she has somehow found the time to become an unbelievable guitar player. Check this awesome cover of ‘Scarified’ by Racer X.

That's interesting - I ran across that last week on one of those YouTube journeys. Don't remember what I was originally looking for, but last few steps were Paul Gilbert - RacerX Scarify - 8y/o Scarify. I thought it was kind of a random find, but I see that it has 2M+ views.

Have you seen this one? Impressive, but a little strange and concerning, to say the least:

Wow Ioved that.
sometimes random finds are the best.

Nothing strange about the kids themselves, whatsoever. They are jaw-droppingly talented for their age, and cute as can be. The concerning aspect stems from how they achieved that talent. They appear to be about 5, and must have been working very hard for at least 2 years. It would be hard to believe that they all choose this path for themselves at 3. If the vid came from south of that border you might speculate that they all had tiger moms pushing them along. On the north side, you can't help but think that the State probably choose this path for them. The strange part comes from the animatronic-like quality of their choreography. In a vacuum, it wouldn't have the same effect, but given the political climate of North Korea, it seems a little creepy.

For all we know, they could just be highly talented, highly committed kids that lucked into finding a great teacher. If I had to bet, though, I would put my money on them being selected and trained for this duty to glorify the State.
