Teen Releases Balloon ‘Letter to Heaven’ to Dad. A Town 400 Miles Away Answers in the Sweetest Way.
Sixteen year old Ashlynn Marracino grew up without her Dad. For the first few years of her life he was in prison. When he got out, they became inseparable. When he died suddenly of an aneurism in 2010, the Whittier girl became inconsolable.
Every year on his birthday since, Ashlynn writes to her Dad on a balloon and releases it– hoping it will find him in heaven.
On Janurary 6th, when she launched a balloon bearing this year’s note to her father, she told him what she had been up to:
I’ve been playing softball for 11 years now. Can you believe it? I Hope you helped me out with all those home runs. I don’t like how I never had you in my life. It’s not fair.
And then she had a request:
Show me a sign please. Anything to let me know you’re there. I miss you so much and I want you back.
