It is not uncommon for some athletes to hit two home runs in a single game.
It is for my dd, known more for getting on base and doubles, she is not that clean up hitter.
Had to laugh this weekend when she pulled it off.
Here is the part of the write up, I changed the names just because.

Bunny got the scoring started early in the nightcap with a solo shot to dead center on a 3-0 pitch to lead off the game, before a Hedge Hog's RBI single that plated Field Mouse, who doubled after Bunny's blast.
The sweet-swinging sophomore came up again in the next inning after Squirrel and Hamster laced one-out hits, and greeted relief pitcher Fox by clubbing a 3-2 count over the center field fence for a 5-0 lead.

On the opposite end of this happy story, the next day while chasing down a ball in out field, when her foot met the warning track she popped, sprang, tore or did something to her knee. She will be seeing doctor today. Making specialist appointment for tomorrow. Nice that she is close enough to assist.

Thank you fastpitch05, I have always appreciated and admired when a coach will take the chance give the green light on a 3-0 count,(it's sometimes the best pitch a batter ever sees) as well as bunting with two strikes against batter, when circumstances or conditions permit.
As for her knee, almost all softball athletes have a great tolerance to pain. I was not there, but heard she went down waling as if Hillary had won the election. Specialist appointment already made for tomorrow regardless of what school Physician says.
In this regards,,,,how does this work in general, does school cover anything? Is it just school physician and trainer?
It doesn't matter I will do as a parent what is best, just curious what care schools really provide for injured players.

It varies by school - some provide primary medical coverage and others is secondary.

A dad with 2 DD's playing in college blogged about their experiences and that was one of the differences between a major D-I (Pitt) and a D-II. Unfortunately, the DD playing D-II was the one that got injured and that school didn't provide nearly as much as Pitt would have.

You've got your priorities straight - DD's welfare first.

Learning,,,cancelled specialist, (on back burner). I guess some Universities handle in house even though they are not a medical school. She will get MRI Wed. and they have a sports orphopiedicdoctor they use. No use for parents in college.
I will still research them and play by ear.
Just a new queer road we've never been on.
I will refill my prescription of duct tape.

Just a little fyi, and not meaning to be too personal.
My dd tore her ACL, and tore meniscus, while playing an away game and missed last 10 games of college season.
The Cal State school which she attends had its own sports medical doctor off campus.(maybe a contract thing)
Insurance wise, we the parents are the primary, the school is the secondary, which also covers primary deductible.
As parents of a student athlete we lose no money in the surgery and physical therapy.
The medical toys she came home with surprised us.
A CPM machine that you strap your leg in and bends the knee as patient lays in bed, so that it (the knee) does not lock up while healing in any certain position. (bend,,straight,,bend,,straight)
She also came home with tens unit, shock therapy unit.(twitches muscles)
A Epio elite machine, another electronic gizmo to strengthen muscles.(contracts the muscles more)
An ice machine, which is a water pump ice bag.
I just thought this good information to pass on in regards to how they handle sports injuries in college.

I don't or didn't mind her missing the last ten games, she kept her stats in the positive.
What kills us is the summer 23u league fun we were looking forward to in So.Cal.
Fudge, we had found paradise, where stats don't matter, the talent is above the top because it's girls who play for love the game.
