NorCal

HS teams and travel ball practice

by Old Darter » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:56 pm

That's just for the ASA NorCal association. Members of other associations (GSSA, GSJA, Oakland, Central Cal, etc) are not bound by the NorCal Assoc. bylaws, nor are any teams playing in the PGF.

Yep, there it is. That rule is ridiculous. And I guess I would just not register my team with ASA until right before the HS season ends. This way I could practice as much as I wanted with the HS players, then as the ASA season begins, I would register my team. That would solve that issue.

I think they'd have a hard time enforcing some of those rules... esp the one referencing 3 hrs/week. Is that 3 hours of practice? 3 hours incl talk? 3 hours from arrival time? I've seen several teams at 12u and above that run for 4-5 hrs on a Sunday.

Agree with ILB - just don't register ASA until May and you're good to go !

Now, what's the order of precidence? GSJA - NorCal - Region 14 - ASA?
Who falls under whom?

GSJSA and Norcal are equal to each other in that they are both associations, which are in region 14. As is Sacramento and Oakland, Central Cal, Socal etc,.

Well, if you don't register until May I hope you have team injury/liability insurance other than that provided by ASA so that when Jane snaps her knee at practice you are covered.
