Players Fees

by 2face » Thu Aug 11, 2011 10:49 pm

Is it CRAZY that some organizations are willing to let certain players play for free at the 10u and 12u? Isn't that kind of early to start that? I mean what about the rest of the girls on the team? Is it fair to their parents that they have to pay full price. As a parent do you go to a team with average coaching because it's free? Do you sacrifice good coaching and fundamentals because you have to pay. Before you decide think about what's best for your DD!!

sorry, that one is almost unforgivable...for some reason, misusing "there/their/they're" and "dominant/dominate" are like a punch to my stomach.

carry on...
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

Yes it is fair and fare too I guess.

Even at 10u and 12u; there are players that I could see being sponsored. I know a girl that is an awesome pitcher from a messed up family. She is an amazing player but does not have the means to play travel softball.

Instead of worrying how others are being treated or what benefits others are getting; you should teach your DD to focus on herself and things that she can control.

There should be a scholarship mechanism in place for a player if they cannot foot the bill. I just don't think it should be used as a recruiting tool.

This topic is similar to the one about teams showing their financials. People need to focus on their cost versus the benefit they receive. If they're satisfied, they shouldn't be concerned about other people paying less or where the money goes.

That said, people should be concerned if the team takes on player(s) just for the money without being honest about their role on the team. That type of behavior is a red flag about the integrity, or lack thereof, of the people running the team.

Go to team D-marini and you wont have to worry about fee's. But first you have to make the team. :D

Why are you worried about anything else except your DD. Like Luther said, teach your DD
to focus on herself and things she can control. If not you will be on 5 different teams in a year, if you haven't already!!! :D :D :D
BTW, just because you pay doesnt mean you always get good coaching or fundamentals!!
Like lookingIN says, tryout for Demarini then you wont have to worry about it. Although, It will just be something else you have a problem with!!!
