Definitely NOT the LF! There job is to back up the base. Whoever does not field the bunt should cover 3rd.

That's a tough out to get @ 2B. You have to have a lot going for you but the flip side is with two runners on you still have your force out @ 3B. I'd probably go for the out at 2B sparingly.

As mentioned above, many factors go into the decision, and it isnt automatic. If the bunt was simply too good, you aint getting the kid at 2nd base no matter what you do. If your corner got the ball pretty quick, and she is an athlete with a strong arm, we go for it. The player that fields the bunt makes the decision for us, she doesnt listen for others to tell her... IMO, if they do, it is too late. They get it, turn and go for it. Only by getting some and not getting some will the player learn when they have time or when they dont.

In the past 2 weeks I have watched my 1st baseman on both 16 and 18g teams field bunts and fire to THIRD base to get lead runners. That happens because I am in their ear all game long, all practice long, and in between games about being aggressive on defense.

You dont see it much:(

Getting the out @ 3B, especially from the first basemen is a shorter throw and you don't have to turn. You get another advantage if your 1B is left handed, too. Going to 2B is rough. It will take a mistake by the batter bunting the ball to execute that play. I agree 100% the fielder has to know when the play can and can't be made @ 2B.

Players were great, facility is great, coaching staff was great.

Some local girls from AASA, Scorcerer looked really good.
You had a blast, the players at the camp were pretty impressive.
Some players were extremely focused and asked many great questions.

Husky practice was awesome. You dont think there is much not to like about that place if you are a prospective student athlete.

Seattle was a cool place for you wife and you to hang out. Trying not to mention myself too much... sorry that it doesnt make much sense.

Simple: get the lead runner 'if' you can. If in doubt, get the sure out.*

*You have to practice it coaches! Yelling what to do in the game is too late.
