Do Teams Post Blogs?

by ICMTM » Tue Jul 24, 2012 9:26 am

Just curious. I'd much rather read about that then all these adults that can't get along! When my kid played for Foothill Gold 97 way back when I ran across the Foothill Gold 98 page before they were Grapes. Anyhow they would write a summary of how their tournaments went and I enjoyed that. Do any other teams do that?

When I was a kid we had a local paper (Grapevine Independent) that did a GREAT job of following youth sports. It was really cool to get your name in the paper. After my kid's 1st HS game I said "you got two hits you made the paper." She looked at me crazy! I don't even think she could fold a newspaper.

Anyway the point is are there teams out there that create positive stories about what's going on? One of the best things about the internet is anyone can be a publisher! I'm looking for something/someone who's using their ability to create a positive story versus hiding behind screen names and calling out adults.

I used to enjoy reading those Foothill Gold 98 updates as well. Nice job by whoever used to write those.
No courage. No game.

If you google team names with the age group they are out there. Most of them are in the form of Face Book so you get pics and a lil story plus granny an gramps cheering the girls on. Some teams have twitter that you can follow. I follow a few teams on both. Some of the teams twitters are pretty cool because you get inning by inning updates on tourney weekends, if they are really active with it. Never thought I would have a twitter acct but it is nice to follow the teams who are on it and see what some of my daughters x teammates are doing.

I am aware of both. Both however are usually intended or used for their own team purposes, and they come off more scrapbook like, or it's the actual game in its entirety. I tweeted the entire time when we were in Co. I prefer that to keeping score (iScore > Game Changer FYI). Even then I was using nick names and it was intended for the parents of the team.
