What About the 14U Teams

by Wilson Bats » Wed Oct 19, 2011 7:45 am

This next year looks to be a very good for the 14U division. Several great teams moving up from 12U and some very good 14U teams playing fall ball at 16U. What's your thoughts on 14U this year

The best 14U 97 teams are the Sorcerers & Lady Magic who have been playing up this fall.

The younger teams to look out for are Team California, Grapettes Vasquez, EC Hot Shots and Grapettes St Dennis.

Any thoughts ?

I think there's a lot more talent in the 14u division than you're alluding to... AASA Mello and RR Gold -R come to mind... Lady Hustle has also been doing well.

If you're talking about the younger 14's.... ever heard of a team called SMASH? Lol.

Why do we have to have "GOLD" attached to the younger age groups. I mean give me a break we have enough trouble with 18's calling themselves gold. To some it might be fine and dandy, but you know what, "Gold" is supposed to be something special you attain, not spread across some 10's team chest. I know that R&R has been doing it with the (15) 18U teams they have thats bad enough, but 10's and 12's and 14's REALLY???

Dont get me wrong, I love to watch the little ones and the purity that they bring, but dammit, call them R&R, leave the Gold where it belongs, for the teams that play at the ASA Gold or Premier Championships, pretty simple....

That was my point. Just thought it was funny that anyone could talk about the top young 14's without mentioning them.

Saw them play this weekend and didn't look quite as strong as the nations #5 team from last season?
Still early and maybe just couldn't hang with the National Champions from last season quite yet???
Looking forward to playing them soon though.

As with any team, turnover and injuries play a part especially when your talking about the #1 and catcher.

Smash is not the same team as last season, looks like they lost a few big bangers after Nationals.

But the core of the team remains and added some infield and pitching.
