I heard Dimas team folded.... which sucks as he is a very good coach and knows what he is doing.

LOTS of 12u teams all trying to get players..... the field may have reached its' saturation point for 12u.

You know..I've read a thread (or two) on here a while back saying that there were too many (new) teams in Nor Cal that was thinning out the talent pool. I think that this year (fall) in the 12u division..that you finally see proof of that theory.

i think in the end, teams that stink and have no coaching will just die a quick death in 14u and up.

But in 12u, most of the parents are just getting into this thing called travel ball, and they have no idea who is good or bad... so the number of teams is huge, and yes...... hard to field a team in 12u at this point. At least a good team.

So all those other teams fold and send your players to us:).... just kidding, dont be so serious:)

Just heard from quite a few parents, they were not happy with Dimas, said just because he is quiet its an act, he cant coach. They liked him, just said he was not a good coach.

Those 12 u parents were changing their kids diapers when Dimas was coaching some very good teams 10 years ago. :P :P

His older daughter was one of the best catchers to come out of this area in 10 years.

Maybe the players on the team cant play??? so they try to blame it on him.

...and just how does that make him a good coach now???

Yup, blame a teams worth of kids and parents. Better dry off, you been in that river called de-nile a bit too long.

LOL...
I have been around this area for a while. i can name the good coaches from the bad...... OBJECTIVELY because I have no kid playing for any of them to cloud my view of each coach.

By playing against local coaches, I can also tell you who has no clue and who I know gets the most out of their kids.

No coach is perfect, but if Dimas is a bad coach....by comparison, there are some really bad coaches floating around these parts as well.

Whether the parents like him or not doesnt really matter. Many parents dont like coaches for various reasons, and most of those parents dont have a CLUE about coaching the game.

Like they say, if you can do better, dont complain about the guy, go start a team up and take the helm.

denial? about what?? Blame the kids? Dimas has already shown he can coach winners, so if his current team isnt up to par, do you think he forgot what he was doing? or maybe the players arent up to par????

And I aint slamming some little kids, i dont know any of them. But I do know Mike Dimas, and he can coach, no matter what some 2 year veteran parents think.

Sounds like yer blaming the kids to me.

Maybe his recruitment skills are starting to suck.

The skills of a "game" coach vs a "practice" coach are not identical. Perhaps he's good in game situations, but lacks the ability to bring his group of kids "up" to become better players than when he gets them. Or, do you expect kids at 12u to be fully developed?
