On the Group B list, just FYI that Mizuno has two '99 teams this spring.

"Garcia" is the established team. "Stone" is a new team and playing in the Breeze friendly this weekend.

Not trying to take anything at all away from Dirt Dogs outstanding performance in SoCal last weekend... they represented NorCal very well!! Congrats to them for making it to the finals & giving Corona Angels a helluva fight! And great job to all 3 NorCal teams for getting things going so early and right out of the short winter break...
Now, with that said, it's interesting how we are so quick to shuffle our rankings up here from tourney to tourney...
Case in point: Brackey's rankings. Corona Angels (#22 rank) won the tourney & he hasn't done the knee jerk reaction of jumping them up... In addition, it was Artesia Punishers (#3 rank) tourney to lose, yet he didn't drop them down based solely on this tourney's outcome... Of course I realize it weighs heavily into his system, but it seems to be in combination with an objective grading system.
Rankings are just for fun, yes... but it should be based objectively upon longterm overall performance... JMHO, take it for what it's worth.

That's the beauty of doing the rankings so early in the year and everyone's got their own system and opinions, knee jerk or not. Since it's all for fun(no pun intended) just drop your top 10 ranking on us.

no team is grandfathered into their ranking by merely putting on a certain team's jersey. rankings have to be earned by playing the best and beating the best.

i don't think wilson changed very many of his rankings at all. i notice he made one change that reflects the efforts of a team that has been firing on all cylinders for a while. their success hasn't just come over night.

if one team moves up in the ranking, another team necessarily has to move down. no shame in that - but it does give the teams who get bumped down some motivation to work harder and move up the list.

rankings are kind of like beauty - their accuracy is in the eye of the beholder
No courage. No game.

...all I'm sayin is perhaps we might consider initiating a more objective rating scale mirroring a respected one already in use, which might help to prevent a potential yo-yo effect.... just an observation

PreSeason ranking is all perspective. Nobody really knows the extent of movement from season to season. Don't get bent out of shape for one's thoughts and "ranking" movements. The proof is in the pudding when more serious play starts in May, jocking for Nationals Berths. There is going to be more movement of Teams up and down over the next few months, based on play in some of the tournaments that are upcoming and I would even venture to say due to some player movement. If you DD is on one of the teams listed, just relax.

Agree with Cheeto.

Hey Fun..I have to ask, you think objectivity must be placed. So are you saying that bc subjectively your DD is on one of the teams that was displaced by CC Dirt? I'm good with objectivity and fully agree. Just want to make sure your being objective too. My kd's not on any of the top 5 teams but have friends that are.

Well lets see if I can make you feel better about the Grapettes being moved from the #1 position when they went 3-2 in the SoCal, and the CC Dirt Dogs being moved up from #2 position to #1 after they went 7-2 in the same tournament.

Down south a #22 team won the tournament going 9-0 and they don't get moved I don't think my ranking should be questioned. The Grapettes SN team isn't playing in any friendlies or tournaments in NCal until early March so I have to change the ranking when the other Top Ten teams play each other in the future. There was always a question as to the Grapettes being #1 all winter as other teams had beaten them but I still kept them #1. New season so when they go 3-2 and another team in the same tournament plays in the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME they must be moved DOWN!
