zonlooker wrote:The weekend tourney has ended.. There was a lot of great games I was able to witness. Looks like the Smash will hold onto their #1 spot but the next few spots are open to some movement. Smash played Smash type ball, smart and capital lize on others mistakes. Sorcerer did'nt play here in 12s not sure where they ended up. The Gold bracket Sunday was a great day of some good games. I watched Grapettes #1 saw off and no hit the Dirt Dogs 7-0, watched the Breeze seem to struggle a bit in most of their games, not sure whats going on there. Hot Shots played well in the lower half gold bracket and eventually make it to championship game to lose to Smash. I have got to tell you the game of the day was Smash and Grapes Vasquez AGAIN. You talk about Clash of the Titans.... What a great game 1-1 through a better part of it with both pitchers bringin it. Hard to see a loser out of this one but Smash prevailed 2-1. Great job Gary nice tourney just not the weather.... Look forward to Tenshun and Gametime's thoughts.......

If you really watched the game between the grappettes and dirt dogs then you would know that the grapes didn't saw off anything.. They may have won that game but they didn't beat the dirt dogs. The dirt dogs were robbed, it is hard to beat a team that has 11 players on the field if you know what I mean. I personally sat behind and watched this whole game as an on looker while waiting to watch my DD's game. I think the grapes had a video if they really thing they saw'd off and beat the dirt dog team they should submit their video so everyone can watch. I think everyone would be disgusted by what they would see the ump do to those poor girls.. There was even another ump that saw and went to get the UIC. it was the worse I have ever seen. These umpires are paid to do a job and they should do just that keeping their personal feelings and emotions out of thier calls. That game was beyond unfairly called..

As a Onlooker I too witnessed the game and can understand your frustration. But you cannot take anything away from the Grapes #1 as she adjusted to his calls as I witnessed he called both the same... As for the score it seemed the Grapes hit the ball abit better than the Dogs on this day..

I think it was 2 hits grapes to 1 hit dogs. Yeah I guess you can consider that a bit better. Didn't keep an actual book on the game so I can't say with 100% confidence but I am pretty darn sure (99%) that all but 1 run was scored against them on walked batters. As for the the Grapes #1 not taking anything away from her at all she did great. But adjust??? If you say so, she had no need to adjust he was calling her game. I know there were several pitches thrown by the Dog's pitcher straight up the middle of the plate those were called balls. How the heck does anybody adjust to that? Where else could she have placed the ball to get a strike call if you can't get it right up the middle? If you saw the calls go both way's then you must have walked up and watched with the TD because that is about the only time decent calls were made and agree that he did call both ways while she was watching. In my opinion both pitchers did a great job! One got calls and one didn't. The Grapes pitcher didn't have a single walk on the board until the last inning which happend to be around the time when the TD showed up.

When other umps are saying to get the UIC you have to know something wasn't right. It's all in the video if it was my DD's game I was watching then I might have some video that I could share. I did see a video camera on the back of the fence so maybe the Grapes would be kind enough to show everyone how they really won that game. Not saying that the Grape's couldn't beat them they did look pretty solid, just saying the game was taken out of the Dog's' hands in and put in the hands of the Blue.. That ump might as well have put on a grapes uniform

I watched some of the grapes/dirt dogs game and from from what I saw, the Grapes outplayed the DDogs. I was standing behind the plate and saw a couple pitches that were clearly balls and heard the Dogs yelling at the ump.

Not saying he wasn't be biased on other calls, cuz I didn't watch the whole game. But I know for a fact, parents were yelling at him even when he made the right call. I saw a Grapes girl hit a ball to 3B and got through on what looked like an error and thought I saw at least two more hits. I only watched for a short while, but to me it looked like grapes was the better team.

Also not sure if the grapes pitcher needed any help from the ump, cuz I saw her throw in other games and I don't know if she walked more than a batter or two.

Not being devil's advocate, but keepin it real.

So how does the Dogs pitcher not getting calls stop the Dogs from getting hits? Are you saying the Grapes pitcher didn't throw any strikes?

I am sure the Dog's have a sour taste in their mouth and rightfully so. The Grape's pitcher did great, did not need help with calls. But it did appear her calls were much more accurate then the other side. Like I said not saying the Grape's wouldn't have won that game anyway there played very well. Just saying the ump didn't call a fair game which did contribute to the situation. In my opinion the ump was upset with the Dog's coaches questioning calls and from their he didn't make them fair.

I too watched the game and the poor umpire was terrible. His age was projected to be at 78 :o God Bless him! But he has no business behind the plate. Yes the calls went both ways. But it did seem that when the DD's were caught at his finest it affected them more. Nothing to take away from the Grapes. Their pitcher did a great job and their team has improved.

GameTimer 23 ranking as of 5/31…

#1- Smash- Force, 14’s and Memorial Day winner. Team will make a deep run at nationals or westerns.

#2-Sorcerer98- Great pool play in 14’s, but got beat on Monday. They got a true taste what 14’s is all about. Would be better served playing top #12 first. Limited and young pitching starting to show. Will make deep run in Reno Triple crown.

#3. Grapes RV-better and better each game. This teams shows up and will play anybody. Could have a good run at nationals or westerns.

#4.Hotshots- Played a few top teams and won. Injuries and limited pitching set them back in championship game vs. smash. Great showing and will do well at Reno Triple Crown.

#5. D Doggs98- I love these kids, but had some issues this weekend. They will pull it together and move up as season goes on. Maybe a little too much so cal?

#6. Breeze98- they looked a little off to me this weekend. Losing a top player is starting to show and coaches seem to be on edge. Still a great team and coaches and will make a good run at nationals.

#7-AASA- Playing 14’s & beat grapes 14’s & Stars, 6-2 and won Silver bracket and beat breeze98. Team is really starting to gel and 99’s are playing big roll. (2) Stud #1’s pitchers help.

#8.Grapes SN-really hard to judge and haven’t scene very much of them, but they beat R&R 99 and won championship. Will need to play and beat top team to move up at all.

#9. R&R Gold99- I love these kids. Seem to play well vs. older teams and down to younger ones. This will be top U12 in 2012.

#10. Foothill Gold- Not a big fan and think they peaked a month ago. Will need to beat top teams to move up, my guess it will be down.

#11. Stompers98- Stud coach and solid players. Coach will always keep kids in the game and get the most out of the talent he has. As 10’s this was a stud team, but most have left.

#12. Storm98- Playing RR tourney and losing to MoJo doesn’t help at all. I could see them following off the map. Peaked too soon?

HM-Intensity, Blast, Breeze99, Hype98 ,Sting & OBS
