Don’t be fooled by the championship thing though. As often happens, they were the benefactor of a favorable schedule and watched as several quality teams eliminated each other.

Not sure what "favorable schedule" you are talking about, we drew one of the better teams the tournament had to offer right out of the gate(Batbusters) and suffered a tough loss in pool play to start. We won our next game to place 3rd in our pool. We then draw a #1 seed, we then faced 7 So Cal teams including the Batbusters again and the HB Breeze that nobody had beat,we were the only team to beat them the whole tournament. I would say we had one of the toughest draws of the tournament. My girls played some great softball and that is why we ended up Co-Champs.

have got a chance to see your team quite a bit. I'd hate to have to face your team when your team is on a roll. I have seen the good and the bad, but damn that team can hit! I always stop and watch when I see your team, if even for only a couple of innings. And still fairly young team right?

As said your tournament co-championshiop was well deserved and I'm sure you feel bullet-proof about now, but at the same time you did have some good fortune for Saturday. The pool games earlier in the week did not matter and if anything, your #3 seeding only bolsters my point. Still, your team is strong so I give you credit.

The first two games you played on Sat were far easier than they were for the BB's who had to use up much of their pitching while you didn't have anywhere near that problem. I watched your game against them and clearly, BB's pitching was a factor. This was no New Mexico Sol kind of contest! On Sunday you lost to the Breeze in the semi's, then played Artesia who was most likely about out of pitching after playing three games back-to-back-to-back. You did come back and beat the Breeze finally in G1 of the finals. (I'm guessing that pitching was probably getting dicey for both of you by then but we had already left the park) The "if" game never finished - it was tied when the rains came, but had that finished, no telling what might have happened with so much pitching being used...

Again, you're a good team and even though 16's are a whole different animal - especially in fall, I have no doubt you'll continue to show well.

Foothill- will compete with one awesome pitcher who makes it look like a walk in the park. New add is crazy fast. Watched her cover so much ground.if this team stays together they will only get better.
grapettesKO- young team no pitching! N1 is hurt. She may be alone on the mound once again. Kelly is like Corey a great coach. She may be into the wine making
GrapettesDH- are definately better now than they were in spring . A whole new team! No more daddy ball coaching!! They are only getting stronger.
Aasa- word is players have left and pitching isn't national ready. They will not compete down south unless he gets pitching.
LM is way over rated teams make that team look better than they are! They always start strong then strivel up mid season. Nowhere close to nationals mark my words.
TNT has huge bats! Strong D and the pitching is enuff to throw off the timing. They need to play more
Obs- no need to say much they are competing at 18G level! Corey has made some fine wine out of those once grapes.
Fury-where did they go?
Valley Stompers- haven't seen them
Breeze- wow that pitcher is redonkulous! She is gonna get hurt on the mound. What was bilboa thinking? They have a great organization behind them but the pitching needed at this level isn't there. They will go to nationals but will be home on day 4.
Sting/kg Hitters should be tearing it up at 18G level.
RR-yray teamS been together too long. Time to go the cutting block. No defense. 1 new pitcher.
rr-Dimas will not win much games everyone who didn't make a team is playing there.
RR-gabales haven't seen them play
USA elite - lol what's with the pitcher who screams like she's constipated? That team is just aweful

did I forget someone?

Im interested in how the area teams do down south this upcoming weekend at the surf city tourney. Looks like 4 SJ Sting teams, OBS, LM, Valley stompers, Grapettes-DH all will be there.
Norcal 24/7 (not trying to get into an argument here, just want your take).......I would just like to know why you think Grapettes-DH is stronger? I think this weekend when they go down south it wont be much fun for them. I have seen that team a half dozen times against teams, and nothing has seemingly changed except Dave isn't complaining on every play. Not trying to bash that team at all but I have seen them struggle against bottom tier teams so Im wondering why they are even in the conversation? They should fly under the radar and get better before making any sort of rankings. Pitching is weak compartively speaking to the top level teams. Also in the same breath you say LM is the product of teams they play and thats what is making them look good (isn't that also an excuse?). Aren't they playing Grapettes every tourney out? So what does that say? Im just asking. If LM starts losing to these teams I will be first to say im wrong, but from my seat, they are doing what they are suppose to at this point and beating the teams they should. Nothing wrong with that. No points also for doing that. I guess what im saying is they are playing consistant to this point. Whether they fold , we will see. They are also another 96 team that moved up when they could have benefited probably by cleaning up in the 14U division. I am a huge proponent of staying down and getting confidence. LM at times seems to need that in the past. I pretty much agree on the rest of your comments. Anybody going down to LA to watch or have kids on any of these teams? Some great matchups. I need some updates!!
TNT has went into hibernation it seems...
Valley Stompers can swing it and have one solid pitcher that seems to lock down batters
AASA has same pitching staff from what I saw, or atleast one of them. Bats still look the same.

Just re-read this;

Are you saying that they are going to compete with a single pitcher??? Unless they're playing a single game a day, I don't care how good the kid is, one pitcher just ain't gonna get the job done. Combine her with one fast kid and it still ain't gonna happen. Have not seen either of them yet (or they weren't anything spectacular...?) so I don't want to knock your team but as we all know, it takes a team effort to win games - even if you have Bustos on your team. Pitch around her and she becomes just another runner.

Let the time play out and let them play in some of the bigger tournaments against the stronger teams and we'll see where everyone shakes out!

OBS is playing real 18G teams now and COMPETING, who they play?

AASA losing players on 16's team, didnt know that hmmmmm...

p.s. opinions on teams are fine but singling kids out in a negative way is not good!
