NorCal 10u Teams

by Turret94 » Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:59 am

1- Breeze Been playing together for some time now and are well ahead of the other teams. Solid hitting. Winning every weekend.

2- KG Hitters Also been playing together for several seasons. Two strong pitchers.

3- Fresno Force Very strong #1 pitcher that dominates for them. Average team without her.

4- OBS Monarchs Strong #1 pitcher and well-balanced team. Primarily an '03 team, strong coaching is evident.

5- Smackers Dont overlook this team. Played well this past weekend.

6- Foothill Gold Good hitting older team.

7- RR Gold Good pitching and coaching. They also run the bases well.

8- Lady Spartans A well balanced team. Won consistently last year. Started strong but fading last few weeks.

9- Team California An up and coming team with several upsets under their belt. Coach Garcia is the head coach but team is not as strong without his presence.

10- Salinas Storm An older, good team that will get better throughout the season.

@ Turret94

I would agree with your top 5 except the Monarchs. I watched this team this weekend and would have to agree with the other posts concerning the Monarchs. Norcal Smackers are a good team and will get better throughout the spring. Salinas does not even belong on this list. I do not believe they even won a game this weekend. The Bears and Fired Up are better teams. Fired Up beat Salinas the first game on Saturday. Still early in the season. The well coached teams will make adjustments and work on their weaknesses.

Don't you remember when they went head to head in the 6U Nationals? The most any of these 10U teams have been playing together was since last September.

Any updates from this weekends tournament in Sac? Any surprises? Saw that Central Cal Dirt Dogs and RR Gold were bringing their game to town.

Dirt Dogs & RR Gold underwhelmed their opposition overall. No need to say much more. Breeze beat KG Hitters in another championship rematch. OBS Monarchs lost to KG Hitters by 1 run to see who would make the championship game. It was a good pitchers duel.

Not sure what game you were watching? Monarchs, along with RR Gold, Team CA, and Dirt Dogs were one and done today. It was Lady Spartans v KG Hitters and Foothill Gold v Breeze in the semi-finals. Hitters and Breeze went on to the championship game. I'd take RR Gold off that list, move Monarchs down, and put Foothill ahead of Spartans. They've beat them both times they faced them. Smackers look good this year too and should be higher than Dirt Dogs. Haven't seen Fired Up yet.
