12u Fall tryouts-Who are favorites & sleepers going forward?

by Bean Counter » Fri Aug 16, 2013 10:22 pm

Foothill gold and Spartans always put talent on the field. LTG will replace the players that bolted and them and Team cali will be solid. Both Breeze teams got fat on pitching with Red on 01 and Monarchs pitcher joining 02.

The list looks pretty dead on. I would put 1 LTG they were probably the strongest 01 team in this area last spring. 2 Foothill Gold this is the team to watch. They have power, speed & good pitching. Breeze 01 will be much improved with the addition of their new pitcher from Gold 00. The rest will be playing to compete with these top three teams.

LTG finished 17th at the biggest national tournament and they're not #1? Unless they were completely gutted and lost that many kids how could they not be 1? Breeze HAS to be #2 because of red. They will go as far as she takes them. She's pitched at ASA nationals and has just played higher caliber ball. I've only seen Gold01 two times. They didn't seem overly impressive BUT I only saw them twice early on. I missed them at Metros. I'd put them at 3 because that's where everyone else is.

I think the top 3 are better than the others right now. That's only now. I don't know where they can be at the end. Even as it stands now I put LTG and Breeze by themselves. LTG because premier and breeze because they got red.

LTG got punched in the mouth every game they played at PGF. It didn't matter if they played 00 or 01 teams they got it handed to them. Yes they finished 17th but look at it. They talked their way in using the handed down berth they didn't earn at Metros, lost every game they played in pool play. Beat a duck as someone said first round, were pounded by Rapids then got by Magic in a goofy game followed by another run rule loss. Don't let the finish at PGF fool you. They didn't belong. The team had no pitching all year and were in more Silver Bracket Sundays then anyone in Nor Cal. The biggest problem they will have is they do not have a solid #1 pitcher. As for the guy who said the new pitcher for them throws 55 + you have bumped your head, you might want to check that gun you used we played that pitcher at least 10 times this season n 55+ has never happened.

Breeze and Foothill Gold should be above LTG just off of pitching alone. Breeze pitcher is a true 55+ pitcher and Fotthill Gold pitcher is 53 avg every pitch. Overall hitting and defense is pretty equal across the 3.

Pop

Not sure what your bone is with LTG but you've hounded them forever. Seems like maybe you're either bitter or the coach of another team that they either beat or played against. Give them a break. Pool play doesn't matter and didn't matter at PGF. Beating magic in a run rule isn't a "goofy" game unless you just hate LTG, which it seems you do. As for their pitching, I don't know enough about that to speak on it.

So you're basically saying that they somehow skated their way to a 17th place? That's a joke and you're a joke. You don't skate your way to 17th. The best teams played there. How did your team do at wherever they went?

It's people like you that make me angry. Your ignorance and hatred is more apparent by the post. You can't give credit where credit is due. Every one of those teams did well and just attending is something to be proud of. There's too much anger and hatred on this damn site. I'm sick of it. Grow the hell up.

My DD is aging up and I'm thankful that I won't have to deal with people like you anymore. Joining this thread was a joke.

Dozerdog wrote:I would still have LTG #1. Also the pitcher from OBS has hit 55-56 on the gun. I know because I have gunned her. I would put Breeze #2 and Gold #3. AASA lots both pitchers one aged up and the other went to the Lions. SJ Sting was a mixed team so who knows. The rest is a crap shoot. Good luck to you all this fall.

And pop, read the second sentence. OBS' pitcher hit 55+, not LTG.

Our team did just fine in Tennessee 33rd out of 100 teams wasn't bad.

And yes when you play the worst team in the tourney game 1 and win I would say you skated past a game. You then get your ass handed to you 11 1 to move to the loser where you run rule a much better team who is having an off day to once again get run ruled for your 3rd or 4th time in the week I would say Yes you skated to 17th. In all reality you beat 1 team that was good in the entire week.

By the way the OBS pitcher doesn't throw 55+ either....

Umm..... Ok just asking, why was beating Magic such an accomplishment??? If memory serves LTG beat Magic more times that not this season. Not to be rude but with all of the hype that surrounded this team and the players they chose from both Breeze and Heat, I would say this team under achieved more than any team in Nor Cal.

"Pretty crappy weekend all the way around in So Cal for all of us Nor Cal Teams. To my knowledge. The Nor Cal Teams went 0 for against all So Cal Teams. LTG Taking the beating worse than most, which I think was to be expected. Getting out scored something like 47 - 10. Got to see a bit of your Sun Cats game that was pretty ugly. Then again Sun Cats made a few look pretty bad this weekend. At least the weather was nice. It made 14 hours in the car almost worth the 24 hours we were all there."

Pop, I don't normally do this, but you're a liar. You posted the comment above a few weeks ago. Foothill Gold took 33rd at Nationals and you're saying you took 33rd at Nationals, which would allegedly make you a Gold 00 parent. Foothill Gold did not attend Best of the West, yet you say you watched the LTG Suncats game. Unless you're that dedicated to go all the way down there to support a team, you're lying. You're either a Magic or Rapids parent/coach since they're the only two that went.

So you bash the hell out of LTG for no reason and then lie about your team affiliation. What's your problem pop? Why do you hate LTG?

As for LM, they have underachieved. It's difficult to put together two top teams, egos, and players into one team. They'll lose some and gain some but they'll be solid in the end. Fact is, if they weren't a threat NOBODY would care about them. How about we stop tearing teams down?

As a side note, I have no affiliation to LTG. I'm just sick of you bashing them. And for the record, wouldn't the teams that finished 33rd be the worst? The team that they beat took 25th. The Rapids who beat them tied and only had 1 win because instead of facing an opponent they got a bye. Great draw by their coaches.

So again, I ask, WHAT IS YOUR ISSUE?

One more thing, I've been informed of who LTG lost. The pitcher was solid but the SS/C/lead off was a stud. It'll be tough to fill that hole. I can see why Louie dropped them.
