Would like to get your feelings if you think the top Nor Cal teams could play with top So Cal teams since you have played or scene both? I would say No, from what my experience has been playing So Cal teams in the past.
We actually went 5-1 during the tournament. With one of our wins over AASA, 5-3, that started on Saturday (umpires "officially" called the game after 4 innings, the UIC entered the score in his book, then the TD called that night to inform that there was a mistake and we would have to finish the game on Sunday....and the rest is history) and ended on Sunday. Unfortunately, it was a long, long ride home on Monday. Lesson learned. Thanks for the kind words about our girls, parents, and coaches.
In my opinion (and one that was stated on this site previously), the biggest differences between the top teams in NorCal and the top teams in SoCal is DEPTH and PITCHING. We have played in over 20 games (friendlies included) against the Top 40 ranked teams in SoCal this Spring. Thus, feel comfortable with my statement. Having seen the Smash now, I think they could crack the Top 10 in SoCal. The current Breeze 98 squad would be Top 20-30. The AASA team would be Top 30-40. Have not seen the other top NorCal teams this Spring (except for Grapettes-SN with their #1 in Feb) so cannot rightfully comment.
Again, thanks for the recognition and comments!!
