Cant wait to see your updated rankings!! Congrats to Smash!! They are playing great!!
Gametime23 just an FYI RR Gold didnt beat Grapes-RV, Sharks did who went on to lose to
RR Gold in the ship. Also, heard that one of the RR Gold kids hit one over at Arnaiz against
Rocklin Hype!! Can anyone confirm that?

Gametime, nice job on the rankings.

I think Tenshuns will look a bit different in a few places when it is finished (should be done tonight)-which is a good thing as it will give all the bucket heads something to debate.

Teams have made so many improvements and the competition has gotten so much closer as teams have tightened up their game that these updates are getting tougher, especially toward the latter half of the top ten.

Ranking was much easier earlier in the season when certain teams had a head start or jumped out of the gates early. At the same time, there are a few teams that have made such great improvements that they have extended their leads on teams that were once their close competition.

The biggest difference between teams ranked near the top vs. the teams that round out the latter half of the list is consistency.
No courage. No game.

Left 16's to attend 12's at Lembi Sunday. Haven't been to that age level in a while and I was very impressed by the talent and competition.

Grapettes/Vasquez beat Breeze 98 to win first place. Breeze beat Foothill Gold/St. Dennis in eight innings for second. Outstanding games.

All three teams well coached and all played hard. Grapettes are the real deal. They keep coming at you and have talented players at all spots. Very good and deep pitching. From what I hear and read Vasquez may do some damage in Alabama. Confident.

Breeze 98 didn't seem to have quite as much talent (though they still have a boatload), however, can they hit and defend. Very poised and confident team also. Love watching Don Mashburn sit at the end of the dugout on a bucket with his hilarious commentary. All he had to say is boo and the other coaches jumped. You can see his mark on this ball club. The man is a legend around here and if he keeps his interest going this Breeze team can also cause damage at Nationals.

Foothill Gold lost to both teams by one run in the last inning of each game. This team definetly does not have the talent of the Grapettes or Breeze. As one spectator told me, "Only their pitcher and possibly their shortstop could start for the Breeze or Grapes." Only saw them twice on Sunday, but kind of agree. Great coaching (only two coaches!?!) and a lot of heart. If this team gets some more talent and stays together, look out. The 16U FG can learn something from this over achieving team.

I will have to watch some more 12's games in the future, They were fun to watch, play with passion and their love for the game is a joy to watch.

Congratulations to the Grapettes, Breeze and Foothill Gold for playing some entertaining and good softball. Good Luck Grapettes and Breeze at Nationals.

16uFan, nice to see a fresh set of eyes taking a look at the 12u division. Also nice to see that you affirm what I have been saying about three of the top teams in Norcal.

Not sure what line-up FH Gold was using when you watched them play, but I will say that they have a number of players that could start somewhere on Grapes or Breeze, including their 3B and lightning fast 2B to name just 2 more.

The fact that they gave both those teams a run for the money despite not being as stacked with talent (about 2-3 players short talent-wise IMO) is a testament to the quality of coaching and determination of the players. Got to love a team like FH that does more with less.
No courage. No game.

So who from NorCal and CentralCal have qualified for Alabama in 12U? And who is going to try to qualify again at Regionals in Roseville?

There wasn't much going on this weekend. My dd was in Manteca for a USSSA event. USSSA may not mean much to posters in the NorCal forum, but it sure meant a lot to our girls. They defeated AASA for the second time in as many days, 2-1 for the tournament title, before that they handed Vacaville SunDevils a 5-0 loss earlier in the day. They also went 3-0 on Saturday, 5-1 over Cencal, 11-6 over Folsom Freedom and 1-0 over AASA.

The week before that they were in the championship game against Valley Stompers at the NSA Bilson's Father's Day Classic. Girls still talk about that one, Stompers were up 2-0, our girls score 6 runs to make it 6-2 then Stompers come back towards the end of the game to score 5 and win it. That was great game to watch.

Prior to that was the NSA Baden Sports Classic (2 weeks ago), The girls defeated Roseville Heat 99 6-2 and Grapettes-Kappmeyer 7-0 to get to the final game, only to lose to Roseville Heat 98 8-5. On the day before the girls also lost a close one to Roseville Heat 98 2-0.

May not be ASA tournaments, but our girls are enjoying the game, and no doubt the parents are too.

Also want to give a shout out to Roseville Heat, our girls were really impressed with your team when they played them. "They showed a lot of class and good sportsmanship" is what our girls said. Also not easily forgotten are the Valley Stompers, girls would like to play them again.

Nevertheless, there was some good softball to watch over the past three weekends.

Sorry about the post, seems more like praise for my dd's team (Los Banos Tigers) than contributing to the rankings. Don't know if this will affect standings for anyone.
