Best 10 U Programs

by mr.flamboyant » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:14 am

[quote="Que"]I know everyone likes to beat their chest (parents) and boast and brag about who's good, who's bad, who's this, who's that. I also know that since I have been involved and matured with this game that humility and humbleness are major factors to exercise when talking about your team or some other team. During this journey year in and year out my DD teams have won numerous championships and competed against some of the best teams and programs up and down the state and across the country. In the end who really cared who won this weekends "potato sack" tournament or where they played. The goal is, was & still should be who won & qualified for major post season play. I don't believe no team is scared or running from anybody (at least I hope not). There are a few select tourneys in California and Nevada that have meaning, impact and are great measuring sticks where the best will hopefully meet and play the best. Finally what you do and how well you perform in early August at a ASA/USA Nationals or Western Nationals event will ultimately tell who can really brag. I know for sure more than half of the HB people particularly and especially in Nor-Cal have never ever even been to one of the above mentioned events let alone gone past their city or county line. So just to refresh your mind in Nor-Cal the past few years and what's really been going on in Nor-Cal 10U check the list.

2006-All American Sports Academy 5th place ASA Nationals
2006-Salinas Storm 9th place ASA Nationals
2007-California Breeze 17th place ASA Nationals
2007-All American Sports Academy 2nd place ASA Western Nationals
2008-Sorcerer 13th place ASA Nationals
2008-San Jose Sting 13th place ASA Nationals
2008-All American Sports Academy 17th place ASA Nationals
2009-Team Unity 5th place ASA Nationals
2009-California Breeze 7th place ASA Nationals
2010-????

Hey real Nor-Cal HB fans, the dance is on the diamond, not the documentation. The simple message is this ASA wise, like Lotto-you've got to be in it to win it!!![/quot

VERY VERY WELL SAID..i HOPE EVERYBODY PAID ATTENTENTION TO THE WISE WORDS SPOKEN HERE!!

Depends what you want out of your program. There is drama every where. Try not to get caught up in it. I dont think some teams had 10u long enough to be the best program. Just trying to get back on course. :D

I am new to this site but from what I can tell lookinIN must have a whole lot of time on his hands to sit here and bad mouth a specific 10U program. RRGOLD!! My friends DD plays on the team and I have watched a lot of there games. I have also seen them pretty much beat all the best teams in the area. So don't be mad if your team has been beaten by them. You should be glad that you were beat by the best team in the area.

softballmom65 are you stalking me. For a 45 year old woman you should know it aint right. I think RR gold 10u are a great team. Why would I be mad at a bunch of girls who are playing at the level they are. When they went to LA they represented RRGold but they also represented NORCAL softball too. Trust me, when they won in Hemet. I was just as proud as you or your friend was.

Softballmom65, I can't imagine what parent on the RR Gold 10U team would associate with someone like yourself, except for the other dumbass who comes on here and can't keep his mouth shut either.

As for the rest of you 10U parents, when your kids are grown and no longer playing softball you will look back at this time in your life and think about what an idiot you are for letting all that garbage come out of your mouth. I know from experience that when your child is one of the best players or pitchers around its hard not to let it go to your head... however for your child's sake parents need to learn to keep their mouths shut and know when is the right time to boast about what a great player or pitcher she is. There is a time and place, in the middle of your season with a good team is not the time, and Heybucket is definately on the place. All of 10U-12U parents need to realize this is the fun time to learn the game. Enjoy your teammates and your season. Reality will set in for you 10U parents who think your DD is all that, when they make the jump to 5ft further back and the 12" ball. Most will not be a starter. It's even harder after 12's. So take this time to enjoy what you have now.

jstnjoyit,

I am so glad that I have got your attention. It is sad that you have parents out there who think that there DD are SO GREAT that they can do, say or act however they want. That should make the feel so special. I feel so SORRY for there daughters, all the DD wants to do is play ball and hang out with the girls. Obviously MOM and DAD cant control themselves. So if you want to stick up for parents that cause drama and put there daughter second. Then by all means you are a good friend to talk out of Your ASS to stick up for them.

Softballmom65 you are obviously new to the fastpitch community. I however am not. I am not "friends" with any parents on my daughters team. I have learned through bitter experience that it is best not to become "friends" of the other parents on your daughters team. I enjoy spending time with the parents on our team, I like them all, however I have learned from previous experience to keep a distance and not to trust any of them. For new parents to the softball world its harder, it seems as though these other parents are part of your family because you spend so much time together. That is where the problems come in, just like in most families gossip runs rampid. Parents will learn over time to keep the distance/draw a line. You may get lucky and find another parent you can confide in, but they are few and far between.

As for you, to personally attack someone behind a screen name is ridiculous. If you feel so strongly about this person then next time you see them let them know. Or if your "friend" feels so strongly then she should let them know. But hiding behind a screen name is just inmature.

Theres a post under "perspective" that derfwurzl wrote that you 10U parents and friends of parents should read. It might help with your "perspective" Because it will happen :P
