12U Spring/Summer Ranking

by Blockster » Mon Jul 11, 2011 10:24 am

Tenshun, I have to say after this weekend your top 5 is almost spot on and the results of the tournament proved it out. 6-10 may need some minor shuffling or additions/deletions but you've pretty much got it. Smash wasn't playing in 12's this past weekend but I'm pretty sure their #1 ranking is safe....Sure would have liked to see a Grapes vs Smash game or a Breeze vs Smash game though.

Much props to Breeze 98. They had a pretty tough road to the finals on Sunday and didn't disappoint.

Congrats to Grapes for taking it all.

Here you go Tenshun:

GameTime23 Rankings as of 7/11.....Bratz tourney was true test of where teams rank vs. each other. Great play by many Nor-Cal teams this weekend. Best of luck to all teams playing at Nationals, Westerns and Reno WS.

#1- Smash- Great showing in 14’s this weekend. Team will make a deep run at nationals. Team loaded with Stud players and #1 coaching staff. Keep up the good work.

#2. Grapes RV- This teams shows up and will play anybody. Bratz CHAMPIONSHIP. Will have a deep run at nationals. Great job GRAPES (RV)!!!

#3. Breeze98-Stud kids and coaching. Runner up at Bratz. Team continues to show up on Sundays. Team will make a run at nationals.

#4. Sorcerer98- Team getting adjusted to new players, injuries and young pitching. Team still loaded with talent and 99’s playing big roles. Team has played top competition all year. Team will have a run at Reno WS.

#5. Hotshots- Got a well-deserved rest with Injuries and pitching with time off. Another strong showing at Bratz and added blast #1 pitcher. Great showing all season and will do well at Reno WS.

#6. D Doggs98-Hard nose kids and coaching. This team continues to play anyone and everyone. 1st Place Metros. Team will make a deep run at Reno WS.

#7. AASA- Team made a deep run at Bratz with top 4 finish. Team will need to finish the deal on Sundays and vs. lower competition. Team will compete at Westerns. Good coaching, Stud #1 pitcher and 99's making an impact.

#8.R&R Gold99- I love these kids. Seem to play well vs. older teams. Solid play this weekend at bratz and beat some top teams & Great game vs Breeze98. This will be top U12 in 2012.

#9. Lady Sharks- Watched this team play (3-games) and beat good competition at bratz. Well-coached competitive team. Team will rep nor cal well at Westerns

#10. Stompers98- I don’t know how Callaway does it, but he continues to compete while pulling players from his rec league. This team continues to get better and has a solid core in place. Will make a run at Reno WS.

Honorable Mention-Grapes SN, Storm, Foothill gold, N. Lighting, OBS & Sting

Bratz tourney had a lot of great games this weekend. With the exception of running behind schedule about a hour, the semis and final were great games to watch. I remember the red Grapes RV having three pitchers but only two this weekend but a hell of a 1-2 punch, in a righty, lefty. Congrats they played some great ball all weekend long and seem to be peaking at the perfect time. Breeze battled all day and are a team to look out for. Both teams along with TC Smash should represent Norcal well in ALABAMA... Good luck to all!!! Tenshun, you are doing a great job and right on the mark, keep it up...

Thanks for the feedback on the rankings and all the email updates. It helps to have so many bucket heads watching the games.

After seeing the results from this past weekends big tourny, I think an update to the TDBFR is in order. I'll try to get it out in the next couple days.

Looks as though dirt dogs are falling behind at the wrong time of the season! What is the cause of this slide? Any one particular reason???

I caught the end of that game and I was not surprised. I remembered thier last meeting and what happened at the end of that game. I had a feeling it would carry over.

We end up winning 3 on Sunday but ran out of steam.

Congrats to the Grapettes Vasquez for winning it all.

WHOA!!! What a good weekend for the Grapettes-N & Hot Shots for playing in the championship this weekend at 12U. Looks as if the Red Grapettes had a tough weekend losing to Foothill Gold & SJ Lady Shark. On another note it looks as if the Breeze 98 is rolling towards Alabama losing in the 14U championship to Storm. Hopefully Norwoods team will get alittle more respect with the rankers this week.
