Rumor has it sorcerer98 didn't want 14's picking up any of there players, plus there are 5 coaches kids. They had 3 or 4 players drop this year. They seem to have high turnover besides coaches kids. I know Sorcerer program (phil) isn't a big fan of daddies coaching past 12's..

Rumor has KG Hitters having (2) 12's team this year....00's & 99's...

Sorcerer 98 did lose 3 players, 11-13......every team has drop off in every season and usually its the players who are struggling getting enough play time, which was the case on this team. The team has a great chemistry between players and parents and chose to stay together because of that. And maybe Phil doesn't approve of dad's coaching a Sorcerer team past the age of 12, I don't really know what Phil likes so can't comment on that. But I do know there are 4 coaches kids on Sorcerer 98 and there is definitely NO "daddyball" being played on this team if that's what you are implying gametime!!

No matter what father/coach/daughter relationship they may have, its always portrayed as "daddy ball", seen it a gazillion times. Kid could be an absolute stud and deserves to be in meat of order and play all the time, but there are times when daddy ball will surface, and its not always about playing time, there is so much more to it, and that is why more than likely organization shys away from daddy coaching past 12's. Not implying anything in this case, as I have not seen the 12's play enough to even know, its just fact, i dont care how good a coach you think you are.

So hmmmm about losing 11-13, you 100% sure about that, besides can you let the season finish out before anyone has to make that decision, jeezzz

It 4 Kids..... I’ve been a big fan of this team all year and rankings will reflect that. I've got a lot of crap for drinking the cool-aid. This team is really good.

There are 4 coaches kids, but one of the other parents also helps with OF and his kids is a stud.... coaches kids can flat out play.

4 kids quit during season. With 5 coaches kids and 4 players quit, sound like issues to me.

Smash pick up sorcerer98 #1 player for years, Sorcerer #2 pitcher very good pitcher, AASA girl and old stomper girl just quit...doesn't sound like 11,12, & 13 to me.

This team has always had high turnover in season(since10's)....Don't kill the messenger.

It's great to see that Tenshuns Top Three (Smash, Grapes Vasquez and Breeze 98) all made the trip to nationals and have done well. These teams played the best in Norcal all season long and have now tested themselves against the best teams in the nation.

Smash remains undefeated in the tournament thus far and is in the final four of the winners bracket. It looks like their strategy to prepare for nationals has been successful.

To answer a question asked earlier this year... Yes, I think Norcal finally has some teams that can represent.

Props to all the Norcal teams for making us all proud.

Not sure this a a fair statement. Sorceres and Lady Magic both finished 4th 5 or 6 years ago and Grapettes Noorwood finished 3rd a few years ago.

It would be great to see Smash bring a Championship back to Nor-Cal though.
At this point they have defenitly proved they are not just a top Nor-Cal team but a top National team!

Norcal has a history of great teams across all the age groups. Sometimes people have short memories so I was just giving an example of what some current teams are doing.

No shortness on memory here Tenshun... As i've stated in the past, Tri Co. SMASH is a LEGIT contender from Cali and has earned the respect from the Nation's top contenders this past week!!! GOOD JOB!!! ;)

Tenshun wrote:Hey Wilson, you're pretty familiar with ranking teams... Where do you think Grapes SN fit in?

If you recall, I had them at # 6 last week... But they are one of the toughest teams to correctly position because they can look very different depending on the weekend.

Can anyone speak about how they are playing these days? Moving up the ladder I thought they had to play against the top teams on the Tenshun list. Last time I saw them they had a couple of tough roster losses and lost pretty bad to that Smash team. Other than that, have they played Breeze, Sorcerers, Red Grapes or anyone up the ladder? Also, why isn't Smash playing in these 12 tourneys?

I can't believe your are still bitter about the grapes after all this time. You continue to bash the coach and the team because you have a personal vendetta cuz you couldn't accept the fact your dd wasn't playing the position you wanted her to play and she wasn't getting much playing time. You continue to try and play it off and play dumb that you are not with the TC Smash, that is after all the team you luckily went to after quitting the grapes. You were lucky enough to hop on with smash cuz you have friends with clout on that team. Fact is, your dd was a reserve player at best and not a key loss. Only key loss for grapes team was losing what many believed was the #1 pitcher in norcal for 12u. What team wouldn't feel the after effects of that. Losing a high caliber player like that has deeply affected these impressionable young girls and they've had hard a time recovering from losing a friend/teammate. A big reason they look different from week to week. These girls are after all just 11/12/13 year olds. One person commented that the red-grapes didn't win this past weeks tournament cuz they didn't have 3 starters, well what would they say if they lost their top pitcher, which the red-grapes obviously had along with their #2 pitcher. I dont think theres any 12u team that had to endure what this team has had to endure this spring/summer season and still remain intact and competitive. Pretty much everyone wanted to see this team fail, I guess the price to pay for being on a top team for all these years. Instead of giving these girls credit for continuing to battle through adversity and all the obstacles that they had to overcome along the the way, you and the bitter people who have left the team, and all the haters continue to try and tear them apart. Truth be told, these girls, their parents and coaches should be commended and are already winners. They stuck it out even though things were falling apart and perservered. They didn't QUIT which is a cop out and try to go to greener pasteurs which is the easy thing to do, especially in the middle of a season. My hats off to Norwood and the rest of the team (parents included), you all stuck it out against all odds and showed the true meaning of TEAM, committment and what the true spirit of the game is all about.

Great tournament this past weekend girls. I know the rankings are just for fun and don't really mean anything except for the chest thumping daddy ball parents. You defeated some very good teams (#5 ranked EC Hot Shots (2x) & #7 FH Gold). That's a true testament of what we all know you can do and are capable of doing. Good luck the rest of the way.
