This is really pretty simple.
1 - California Breeze 02
2 - KG Hitters
3 through 10 - Everyone else that has been losing to the Breeze and KG.
One could try and make a case for separating out anyone from this group that actually won a tournament, i.e. Monarchs (RR Gold and Grapettes tourney wins), Foothill Gold (ASA tourney win in March), but it is clear that the Breeze and KG Hitters are the top 2 teams in NorCal 10U. They've beaten everyone in the area decisively and should be the top 2 teams to represent NorCal come Triple Crown WS/Western Nationals/Nationals or wherever they end up going at the end of the season.
Couldn't agree more! Anyone after 1 or 2 are good teams, and some days might be very good teams. I've seen all of the teams ranked and many very good teams that are not ranked . What I see is the most is "Big Fish small pound". Look outside of Sacramento ASA tourneys...at 10U good teams don't have to wear a big name across their chest to be good. As the ranking are right now, all you have to do to be ranked is show up and play ASA in Sacramento. There really isn't a big difference past #3 in the rankings, which is why they change so much week to week. They are all 10U and have a lot of growing and normal growing pains to go through.
At 10U, what do you consider good pitching? Someone with average speed or above that is throwing strikes? Speed? Spin or hitting their spots? I've seen many of these teams number 1's and they really aren't that strong (despite the strong pitcher comments in the team ranking) .... they're 10 - great days, good days and bad. Many of these teams with "Good pitchers" are not lights out and have been beat by little no name teams outside of Sacramento.
There is a lot of talent in 10U and it will be and exciting season to watch all of them grow and develop. At 10U, many of the parents and teams goal is not to go to Triple Crown/Nationals/Western Nationals but to grow and develop to be ready for 12U. Which can be accomplished through practice and facing good competition. It doesn't have to be done in Sacramento.
