I couldnt agree more with your last post about what that ORG could do if he wasnt the dictator and how his teams would benefit in this economy. Lots of money to go around and is the big draw at younger years. I said I wouldnt post again but that hit it right on the head. 8-)

Do you not think that just about everyone who comes on here has opened this thread and knows the story? Just wondering why anyone feels the need to keep resurrecting this at this point?

The 3 or 4 people that have responded most seem pretty adamant about how they feel about the individual involved. My main reservation about believing all of what is said is that the people involved in the incident, including the female coach, could handle this situation if they felt it was that far out of bounds. Whether they wanted to handle it within the organization, or if it is as serious as some of you are saying, she could have handled it through legal/criminal action.

It is difficult to know exactly what happened when one of the original responses said that it started as a fight between girls in the dugout, which was then contradicted and changed. If everything posted on here is true, then the people involved will have to step up and decide how to handle this situation.

The other thing that truly surprises me is that this post got about 2,000 more views than the Steve Allen thread, and he was CONVICTED of some type of sexual misconduct with a player or players. Isn't there something just a little wrong with that?

What you're describing takes time and lots of it. In most cases, it's almost never worth pursuing, especially for people who have real lives to manage.

I would never want to convict anyone solely on the basis of 2nd- and 3rd-hand hearsay, which is already no less than 2nd-hand, by definition, meaning we're talking about 3rd- and 4th-hand rumors - at BEST - in this thread. The guy could be a complete and total asshole and making that declaration from the firsthand stories being presented here is fine, but being a jackass does not rise to the level of a criminal offense.

What's your point? One thread has more clicks than others, but maybe it's because the one case was already being handled by the courts (read: out of parents' hands) while this more recent incident seems to be evidence of an ongoing concern some people have.

Be cautious of reading too much into a view or reply count on a forum. For example, I'm only here because I LOVE the word 'malay'.

SoftballSoccerDad I hear what you are saying. But criminal pursuit was the second option I listed. The first option is to handle it with the organization. My point was that if those involved are not doing that, then maybe that 2nd, 3rd or 4th hand info wasn't totally accurate. I think only the people that were within arms reach would know for sure. People do have real lives to manage, so if this was important enough for the female coach and her husband to stand up and say something, then the information here could or could not be totally accurate.

As for being a jackass and it not being a criminal offense: wish it was because the world would be a better place! LOL. I get what you are saying, but some of the description people gave on here was a case of Assault and Battery. Again, my point is that maybe the reason they aren't pursuing it is because it was slightly distorted on here. Similar to a game of kids "telephone". Maybe NOT. Maybe it happened exactly as described. Only the ones involved, and those sitting extremely close, know what happened.

Lastly, I understand that one case was handled. I personally was disgusted because what the Comets coach did was the most hideous offense one can commit, and it was PROVEN. This was discussed on a softball board. Quite a big difference. My point was that this thread pulled more attention that a young lady being inexcusably assaulted.

Whatever personal opinions people have about the coach are probably justified through their experience with him. But this is more serious than accusing someone of being a jackass or "d-bag". I hope that if it is as people reported it that the female coach and her husband would have taken a stand and dealt with it.

If the title of that thread read Comet's Drama I'm sure it would have gotten more views. Some people already knew about Mr. Allen's issue or didn't care to know. Breeze Drama is vague enough to click on.

I understand what everyone is saying...I feel bad for the female coach. If you read the post it is my understanding that he is the head of the organization. So maybe they wont do anything because of that reason. Who knows nobody will really know until they see for sure who stayed with his team or left his team.

I agree he should be held accountable. I hope ASA does something. There were 3 umpires at that game and they had to have seen what happened. They cleared the fields because of this. There was a tournament director. So hopefully they will do something about it.

You would think that ASA has some type of rules for their umpires and tournament directors to report stuff like this. But then again I could be wrong.

I think 3 or 4 are now team CA Demarini another couple are Comets or Grapettes. The exodus has happened and probably more to come as rosters appear on websites. At least the players are still on the field. Unfortunately the Breeze name will be tarnished forever and after 26 years of hard work and dedication of many, not just DM, it's just a shame...

Forever is a long time, but strong brand names can survive incidents like these, especially if parties close to a given situation are removed for some period of time.

For the kids affected, it might suck to have to depart at this point in their young careers, but thankfully there are enough excellent options available to keep them playing for excellent coaches. Once the Breeze take some time to re-evaluate their staffing situation, I'm sure they'll be back strong on the recruiting trail once again, perhaps as early as this winter.
