Some of the teams that played but didn't qualify for a berth included Breeze 99, Team Xtreme, Mizuno Stone, Hype, Rapids Warren and AASA.

Hmm...what is the possibility that Miz Stone and Xtreme received an invite....during the qualifier?

The PGF web site says that the northwest qualifier in Portland is canceled for 12u division, so PGF is out for those teams this year it would seem.

Ok, here is my ranking for the Norcal 12U.

1. RR Gold -Miller
2. Mizuno AA -Garcia
3. CC Dirtdogs
4. Grapettes -Norwood
5. KG Hitters- Tracy
6. Heat- Cota
7. Rocklyn Hype
8. Worth Salinas Storm
9. KG Hitters- Concord
10. CA Breeze- Madison

Top 4 teams are registered to play in Premier. Kudos, way to represent NorCal, hope those teams do well.
Teams 5-10 Registered for Westerns, all 2000 teams. These younger teams represented all year and were never afraid or back down from the older 99's. Actually all of them competed with the older groups. However, the rest of the 99 teams that qualified for ASA or Premier, Time to represent and play teams at your caliber but yet nowhere to be found or settling for Westerns. In my book they fall down in rankings for the lack of ability to compete.

If your a 99 team and are competing in Premier or ASA Nationals then you should be worthy to be labeled as top 10. Hope more of you register.

Let's keep it real.

What about Grapettes-CK? They have beaten more than one team on your Top 10.

I agree! Grapettes have consistently competed all season and did qualify with a berth to PGF this past weekend. I would put them at 5 or 6. Of the 2000 teams listed, KGH-Tracy and Heat-Cota will be representing at ASA Nationals and Breeze 00 at PGF.

I also agree about the Grapettes, the #3 rated Dirt Dogs have not won a tourney (excluding the central valley metro and that's not saying much) for 2 years. They did not earn a position it was gifted because of their reputation.

Some good teams in Beast's rankings, for sure, but not top 10 over teams that did get PGF/ASA berths through competitive play. Missing are San Jose Sting, Grapettes Kappmeyer, Breeze 99, and Team Xtreme. I'd put those teams over the Storm, Breeze 00, KG Hitters Concord, and Hype. They've beat them more often than not and have the PGF/ASA credentials you're looking for. Still, a strong year for the first-year and mixed age 12u teams. With Breeze 00 getting a PGF berth, I give them props, but they don't consistently beat anyone in the top 10 so I have them just under and looking to break in.

1. RR Gold - PGF Invite
2. Mizuno Garcia - PGF Invite
3. CC Dirt Dogs - PGF Invite
4. Grapettes Norwood - PGF Invite
5. San Jose Sting - PGF Berth
6. KG Hitters Tracy - ASA Nationals Berth
7. Grapettes Kappmeyer - PGF Berth
8. Heat Cota - ASA Nationals Berth
9. Breeze 99 - ASA Nationals Invite (through declined berth)
10. Team Xtreme - ASA Nationals Berth (declined)

PGF is going to have some strong teams in 12U at their national championship but so many 12U qualifiers were canceled - Indiana, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Georgia, New Jersey, North Texas, and Portland. Economy? Coaches/parents OK with focusing on PGF beginning at 14's?

Some teams representing those canceled areas took invites, so it's not a guaranteed win by a So Cal team. But So Cal has the most teams representing and is likely to crown the winner.

1. RR Gold - PGF Invite. Class of thier own. Why havent they hosted a top 4-8 teams friendly?
2. Mizuno Garcia - PGF Invite. Definately beatable. Why havent they hosted a top 4-8 teams friendly?
3. CC Dirt Dogs - PGF Invite - No way. Most overrated team this season. What have they done? Who have they beat? Shouldnt even be in Top 10.
4. Grapettes Norwood - PGF Invite - Are you kidding me, she can barely keep players, field a team from week to week and compete!
5. San Jose Sting - PGF Berth - What have they done? Who have they beat?
6. KG Hitters Tracy - ASA Nationals Berth. Solid young team but not #6 overall.
7. Grapettes Kappmeyer - PGF Berth - Beat your #6, #5 and #4 in bracket play at biggest tourney of year (Memorial Day) and are 2-0 vs. CC Dirtdogs.
8. Heat Cota - ASA Nationals Berth. Solid young team.
9. Breeze 99 - ASA Nationals Invite (through declined berth) Most underrated team out there that have beat Kappmeyer twice, xtreme, Norwood.
10. Team Xtreme - ASA Nationals Berth (declined)
What a shame.

I've updated rankings after the tourneys. KG Tracy, for instance, in my book stays ahead of Grapettes Kappmeyer because they beat them two games to one in metros. That's more recent than the Memorial Day tourney.

I've adjusted rankings on a regular basis, along with wins and tourney finishes. Knock my rankings or anyone else's, but feel free to do the harder work and provide a ranking of your own.

Missing my point...I give my rankings to teams that are willing to compete.

Competeing against teams that you may know that may be better than your own team says alot more. I'm not counting tournament wins...I'm counting on the ability to finish strong.
If you qualify for Premier or ASA Nationals then you should be representing. I see teams that are qualifying but yet have not seen them registered to compete at this level.

Grapettes-Kapp
Team Extreme
Breeze 99
SJ Sting

or any other 99's that qualified for Premier or ASA Nationals. Are they attending? if so, then i agree they should be top 10. If not attending then what message you sending your team? The message that i get is... that they are not top 10 in NorCal.

So with that. More NorCal Teams need to represent. 8yrs ago all top norcal teams were heading to a National Event. It seems to me that they are settling for 2nd best. Westerns or TC World Series.

Norcal 99...i agree with your rankings when counting tournament wins and head to head with each other.
