How far do you travel?

by dittoz » Mon Nov 09, 2009 7:39 am

Just responded to another post and it brings to mind a question I've often wondered;

Leaving your house, how far do you travel to your team's primary practice facility?
Not for tournaments, and if you don't practice, how far is it to where you would practice?

100 miles round trip for us...
Being from NorCal, what do I know anyway???

10 miles roundtrip. We are lucky to have a good program close to home. I admire the commitment of these families to their DD. Over 100 miles roundtrip is alot!

We travel approximately 500 miles round trip to attend practice and games... not quite but almost every weekend for the past three years. Its about 4 hours each way.... Clovis to Garden Grove... Mark Twain. OC Batbusters

One winter it was Hemet with Minors Gold and the Summer in San Diego with Power Surge.

For three seasons prior to that it was traveling 3 hours up North to play with the Sorcerer...

Once upon a time it was 20 miles to travel across town and play for the Fresno Force.

500 mile! Dang...

I know of at least one family from NorCal goes down to SoCal to the Corona Angels every weekend and it's about 7 hrs and 350-400 miles each way. Just cannot imagine doing that!

Kudos to you and your gas card!

Our 92 Sorcerer team had no two kids from the same home town so consequently we picked a location that was somewhere in the middle. Typically, either Modesto, livermoore and an occasional practice in Fresno. I believe it was 350 miles between one team member in Yuba City and another team member in Corcoran. The team was scattered all over Northern and Central California. Yuba City, Fairfield, Napa, Belmont, San Jose, Antioch, Modesto, Stockton, Fresno, Corcoran... others that I can't seem to recall.
