ethical?

A team disbands after coach resigns with letter to parents canceling their season in June. Team has received a PGF berth. Parents paid fees for a full season that included triple crown nationals as well as Pgf, Coach changes his mind the next week and calls for tryouts excluding several team members. Can that coach still go to PGF with a new team?

Sounds like he was culling the herd rather than retiring. Hope he gave you a release so you could pickup on another team.

As stated, the berth belongs to the coach. Did the team qualify for the berth or were they given it? If they qualified, I'd say it's a messed up situation. If they were given one, it was given to the coach not the team.

Fact. If a coach sent an email stating his resignation with paid tournaments still to play and then post for tryouts right after to play in a qualified tournament, he or she is a spineless POS! Probably better to get out of that situation anyways because he or she doesn’t have their players best interest.

Coach is a "Big Deal"....lol in softball. Lots of $ left on the table. Organization should have not let him get away with how he handled it but because he runs the organization, no problem. In a nutshell, coach was upset that a few parents were not happy with his behavior and he got his feelings hurt and disbanded the team.

Lol, sounds like we need a Transfer Portal

How does PGF view the situation? $$$..they want to make sure the hotel rooms are booked and entry fee is paid.

So the coach is the “Big Deal” he’ll get a pass anyway to PGF. Doesn’t take away from his tactics of a coach who’s a “Big Douche!”
