Thanks for the clarification between classification and qualifying tournament. This tournament was played in a round robin format according to the CenCal ASA website http://www.centralcalasa.com/wp/files/2010_Gold_Classifer_Brackets_1.pdf The tournament location was at Buchanon High School Softball Complex in Clovis and the six teams listed previously participated.

It would be helpful to the softball community to post the results of as many tournaments as possible. The day and age of Blackberries and wifi enabled laptops could allow for the immediate posting of tournament and or friendly results.

If anyone could figure out the results, they would probably post...Dirt Dogs went undefeated (5-0) and seems like they are in (classified gold). Force, Rockets, and Krush all went 3-2, beating each other for a 3-way tie (Force d. Rockets, Rockets d. Krush, Krush d. Force). Now, Central Cal ASA just has figure out how the tie breaker works! It seems simple, but somehow, it's not.

I think it is incredibly courageous for ASA to still be conducting classification tournaments in the face of Premier. Good call. Keep those territorials down to about 30 teams, with 6 qualifying. Those who think it is about like changing the oil in the engines AFTER the Titanic hit the iceburg are just narrow-minded.

Send those non-qualifying 18G teams down to 18A, where they can use Pac10 players if they want to. And THIS year, the college girls won't even have to buy a new pair of spikes. It all makes sense. Good stuff!

got this from another site.

Under the rules of our classifier and the interpretation provided to us by ASA, we must use the runs allowed tie breaker to break the tie between the Fresno Force, Clovis Rockets and the Central California Krush, thus reversing the order of finish announced less than 24 hours ago.

The Official final standing for the 2010 "Gold" Classifier are:

1st - Central California Dirt Dogs
2nd - Fresno Force
3rd - Central California Krush
4th - Clovis Rockets
5th - California Velocity
6th - California Stars
