12u summer ranking

by swaggerific » Sun Jan 23, 2011 6:28 pm

Does anyone have a thought about what they think the summer ranking may be? I think the Norcal landscape is going to change.

won't give my ranking yet, but i will tell you what i'm expecting from some of the 12u teams this summer..

breeze 98 - finished fall ball strong and expect them to continue the momentum. good hitters and good game strategy will make them a top contender.

dirt dogs - what can't these guys do? I expect these guys will give everyone a run for the money. possibly the most well rounded team.

stompers – hardworking girls and excellent game strategy will keep the top teams on their toes.

grapettes sn - expect their #1 to lead the charge. run the bases like deer. Probably the best base running team out there.

rr gold – game young team with bigger bats than their size would indicate. Expect these guys to surprise a few of the “top” teams and catch them sleeping. Possibly the best 99 team.

sorceress - these guys can small ball with the best of them and force the errors. Possibly the fastest team in the area.

hotshots - the summer brings a new team together – merging players from several orgs. a few mashers, solid pitching. we'll have to see how the team comes together.

smash -possibly the best hitting team. and they can small ball too.

grapettes vasquez - will have to see what kind of pitching these guys bring, but they’re always game.

lady sharks - what a classy team. expect these guys to try to break into the top 5.

Good assesment. Its going to be interesting season. Didnt get to see the Breeze play much last season. Where is everyone playing? seems like the RR and Grapes tourneys were immensely light! Are they playing USSA or something?

lots of action going on this weekend to give us an early look at a bunch of teams. i think there were a few friendlies and even an early tourney or two.

i haven't seen any team that doesn't still have a bit of ring rust, but the season is young.

so far most the teams look about how i expected - with a few exceptions.

Not sure about making any comparison about how they did compared to the others. But I will say it looks like they picked up 3-4 new players and are much improved from fall.

Thanks TenShun. I am just curious though how all the teams at that friendly did. Someone else posted teams who were playing and that was mostly valley teams.

Has anyone seen 12U Mizuno AA team play this winter? It appears they have picked up an 18 gold pitcher (13?) that blew out the other teams this weekend. I have never seen this at this age. Where did she come from?
