Can anyone from Nor Cal or Cen Cal keep us So Cal peeps informed on the 12U teams registered to play in Roseville this coming weekend... So far there are four teams from that area and only one (USA Athletics) from the South.

If you check the CA Grapettes web site you will see that most 12U from NorCal are bypassing Alabama this year for Reno, NV. I can't say I blame them Alabama is going to be alot hotter/Humid then Reno.

Wow! Just took a look at the ASA web page for registered teams and it's down to 2 teams from norcal; foothill gold st.dennis and san jose sting... socal breakers are still registered but already done chasing. Don't see USA Athltics though! Hmmm... wonder if they are done??? :o

The odd thing is the page says it was last updated 6/27. I think it said 6/30 when there were more teams listed.

Your absolutely right PDad!!! I found that to be odd myself when I saw it this morning! An inside source told me the USA Athletics ARE still chasing and not sure why they were taken off the list of contenders!??? I personally am very glad to hear that news!!! :D

It looks like they rolled the web page back to a previous version, one with less teams, rather than removed teams from the one posted late last week.

Looking at the updated (dated 7/3) team list. Now NONE in 10U - I guess Crossfire, who was originally listed - was the only 10U team to sign up? One of the two available berths to them, I guess.

There are FOUR 12U teams competing for the two berths.

And FIVE 14U teams.

Seriously, not trying to be a smart ass. I'd really like to know the answer. Has ASA Nationals become so unimportant that a NorCal team won't enter a tournament in it's own back yard with a ONE in THREE (or better) chance of qualifying? Against exclusively other NorCal (no SoCal) teams?

Wow.
