Who are the great pitching coaches in nor cal? Best instruction, played the game and able to communicate well with the students.

What part of nor cal ? I live in the Sac area and have gone to a few. We currently go to Chelsea Engle and my daughter loves her! She played the game and can relate to a lot of the issues young pitchers face. She coaches out of the K Club in Orangevale. We also went to Carl Taylor in Rocklin. Very good,very knowledgable guy who was great for building confidence.

1pitch they do hitting and are good at it! modesto area you have jimmy dyson. sac are im not sure. bay area there is balswick and thornson i havent seen any of them but dyson, which is good maybe some other people can go into detail about others and other coaches i have missed.

Rich Balswick has a distinguished list of students, played the game, and has a very good rapport with his students.

In Sacramento I recommend Chelsea Engle from the "K" Club. Chelsea was a record breaking pitcher at Folsom High School, pitched four years at the University of Pacific and professionally in the Netherlands. I have sent many players to her, Chelsea is not only strong on mechanics but does a great job in preparing pitchers mentally and confidence-wise. 916-337-0341.

Joe Jaquez from Softball Skills in Sacramento is the best! Great with his students, actually pitches himself and has a long list of some of the best pitchers out of our area.

I would recommend two places depending on where you live:

1) Sacramento Area – Karen Jackson at ALL IN TRAINING. She is awesome. She knows the game and was a pitcher herself in College. She also can relate with her pitchers. She is a former 3 time NCAA All-American at the University of Iowa; former coach at the University of Iowa and University of Louisville. There are several "pitching" coaches out there. Do your due diligence and research each coach and their qualifications. Be wary of "bucket dads" who are coaching because their DD was a pitcher. You may find that your DD doesn’t click with every coach, find the one that is the best fit for her. Good Luck!
