Spring 10U NorCal

by 411norcal » Sun Jan 05, 2014 10:09 pm

KG Hitters, Breeze and Smackers dominated the fall. Lots of new 10U teams out there with some movement. What's in store for the spring season?

KG is definitely going to be the team to beat this spring. They dominated in the fall. The hitting from this team is what sets them apart. The Breeze also had a strong fall. Dont know if they have the same returning in the spring. But fall means nothing, new teams out there including the Firecracker 10's coached by R Vasquez who is a great coach and the Smackers are always in the conversation as long as Moose is coaching. Should be a fun spring no matter what!!!

KG, Smackers, Breeze, Foothill should be solid. Two new teams to keep an eye on would be, Firecrackers Vasquez and Grapes Schroeder. They may be slow to start but will get stronger from good coaching.

CA Breeze definitely the top team in Norcal 10U and can play down south if the want to. Strong pitching, great coaching and very disciplined team. Conversely, ok coaching and shallow pitching will keep KG, Smackers and others struggling on Sunday. Was at 10U12U SoCal tournament recently. PowerSurge out of SD has 3 if not 4 dominators on the mound. Same for BB and PF.

They can play down south if they want to. Slow down racehorse why don't you let them win a couple here. I guess we know what team your daughter plays for.

Haha. Good call Old Man Softball. If Breeze take two in a row in NorCal then SoCal is an option. My kid plays out of Stockton and not on these teams but we've played these teams many times and I think Breeze will only get stronger.

People like yourself is what's wrong with youth sports in America. Let them be 10.

For the majority of the 10U Norcal teams, you're right and stay close where you have lots of competition. For the top teams listed in this topic, play in Vegas, make a trip to Socal. See what you got so you're not wasting your parents duckets traveling to armpit, Indiana for Nationals. Glad to see KG, Firecrackers & CC Dirt Dogs pushing their players and playing in Vegas this weekend. If you think you got what it takes, track down the top competition and find out first hand. Blowing out rec teams in Tracy doesn't make you better. Some teams want to look good, some teams want to be good.

Lucky enough to catch some great weather and a number of softball games this weekend at ASA Kick Off "rescheduled". A couple standouts in the 12's include Team California and Salinas Storm JJ. TC didn't do that great at the Salinas Storm tourney but seam to be back on track. Much better pitching and had some good plays in the infield. JJ"s team looked much better also. For this early in the season the hitting looked really good in the 12's. AASA small ball was fun to watch also. I think the 12's will be fun to watch this season. I saw pieces of games at the 10's. Saw Clovis Rockets, Smackers and Cal Breeze play. Clovis Rockets were solid all around and well coached. Solid hitting pitching. Breeze allowed only one run the entire weekend and rolled thru the Smackers beating them twice.
