Universal Fastpitch is excited to announce Martin Garcia, (Coach P) to the USA Fastpitch family. Coach P has been coaching in youth leagues for over 19 years, Coach P has coached travel softball, high school softball, youth football and travel baseball teams since 1995.
As an assistant at Rodriguez High School, he was part of the coaching staff that won a CIF Section III Championship in 2009 and reaching the championship finals in 2010 and winning the CIF Section Championship again in 2011. Martin has coached a select group of individuals that have gone on to play D1 college softball and continues to coach players that play D1 college softball including his daughter Kiara “yaya” Garcia (Oregon State). Although Coach P’s desire to win at any level is a major part of his coaching, the main focus is to enhance a player’s mental and physical ability.
Recently, Coach P lead the KG Hitters 16u (2011-13) and 18 Gold programs (2013-2014) to a 5th place finish at the ASA 16u Nationals and two Top 20 finishes (17th and 13th) at the PGF 16u and 18u Premier Nationals these past few years. He has guided multiple student athletes in obtaining softball scholarships to some of the biggest schools and to some of the toughest conferences around the nation, he continues to work with local youth in reaching their athletic goals today.
Universal Fastpitch will be comprised of an elite group of teams, bringing National Championship caliber softball to Norcal. Our goal is to qualify and compete in PGF Nationals at every level. Universal Fastpitch softball will focus on player development, college recruiting, family and teaching the kids to strive to be great in all aspects of life, on and off the field. Universal Fastpitch will run through Universal Sports academy with full access to a 48,000 square foot indoor sports facility, allowing each team to practice and train year around. We will be fielding our first teams in spring 2015.
