20 gold teams?? That is how many signed up, but only about 8 are real Gold teams.

So they pay their money, get the 1:25 minute drop dead games where people are pulling their fast a.. kids off the bench each inning to run for sally fat a.., half of the pitchers suck, and they are assigned opponents. So the 8 real Gold teams play maybe 2 good games out of their 5. They dont funnel the best teams towards each other on Sunday.

I love Gold......... I love it when it is at a different place then where we play.
It sounds like so much fun, they even have the 18 and 16u teams playing the same exciting format.

No arguments there...

But how to fix it? If it really a good idea to limit the number of gold teams...?

During the Fall it doesnt matter. Problem is everyone thinks their kid is a gold player. To me it is real simple. If you arent playing in GOLD qualifiers come next Summer, or the previous Summer, you shouldnt be allowed to play GOLD during these Fall tournaments. People involved in the sport know who the real teams are.

But the real problem is the tournament formats, not the teams playing. Why have 1:25 drop dead exposure format when there wont be any colleges attending?
