First it was Gold, now Platinum, next, will it be Rhodium? :D

It appears Platinum is the 2nd tier division with Premier being the top one. PGF is obviously implying their 2nd tier will be better than ASA Gold.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
- Which week will each division play?
- Which teams will choose Platinum and will any teams be invited for it?

Gold finished today at $1768 an ounce
Platinum finished at $1689 an ounce
Could not get a quote on Premier

So gold is the higher division??

Didn't they invite almost half of the last field?

Other than teams within driving distance, has demand suddenly outstripped available spots?

Will one be for those that qualify, and the other for those that DNQ but just want to pay to play?

I think it is great it gives more kids the opportunity to play in a national tourney.

I think it is a good idea. Maybe the teams that placed 9th, should get their automatic berths. The teams that normally get invited that did not make it to 9th place (if still invited) should get their berth in the 18 platnum and if they want to play in the premier division, they will have to qualify.

Honestly, there are many of the invited teams that should not be playing with the big dogs. (just my opinion)

Is PGF becoming ASA???????

The same way Microsoft became IBM????

The more things change, the more they remain the same

So it isn't really about getting the top 64 teams in one place. I didn't think so. When you are already inviting a large number of teams to your tournament and when the majority of your qualifiers had about 15-20 teams playing, what makes you think there is a demand to have a second tournament of 64 teams. I guess there must still be some SoCal teams that don't want to leave the state for nationals. Forcing growth is a bad business model.

FWIW, I must have a bad link because I didn't see this on the website. Unless they have a new website?
