I give the Florida players a lot of credit-it takes a lot of guts to stand up for what you believe in(especially when it could cost you a shot at the championship) my hat's off for standing up and confronting these ignorant, bigoted, bullies...

I say - unbelievable - but I saw racist behavior that I never knew existed on an out of state trip a few years ago to that general part of the country. My daughters were a part of it - DD2 was walking around a complex with a bunch of her buddies - she was arm -in - arm with her best friend. This was a 14u tournament as I recall and she was talked to very rudely by a couple of blues - and then treated very rudely during a game by one of those blues. We had no freaking clue what was happening but a local that we got to know said these older guys were KKK types and absolutely detest white girls hanging out with hispanic girls. Our last night there having dinner at the Cracker Barrel (who would have guessed) , we saw a very sweet waitress get treated like an animal by an old white woman, the white woman called the mgr over and motioned flicking her hand like you would be chasing off a dog toward this waitress. They both told me that I had better treat her good (read that 'tip her good Dad') to make up for what the nasty old lady had done.

Its crazy to think this stuff still happens.

The 3 players ended up at ASU, Missouri, and Arkansas. The two sisters stayed in the SEC and must sit out a year while the SS went to ASU. I would venture to say that the evidence of misconduct must have been sketchy because coaches would hesitate to bring a problem player on the team. Everyone makes a mistake and sometimes you are a victim of your circumstances, being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I assume that the Fagan sisters will not be on scholarship until their suspension ends so this did end up costing them a year's worth of tuition.
