Story that came out in early May. I am sure all the bucketeers can relate to the close bonds between father/daughter. Makes all those long car rides and hours watching games seem worth even more.

There is a lot of tough kids out there battling through a lot of what life hands you - to reach their goals. I heard one say once, "I wonder how many could handle a day in my shoes." Lots of heroes out there - its very important for this young lady's story be made public, so the kids fighting their own battles know they aren't the only ones.

She is a legend here in CT. My DD never faced her, but several of her friends from other HSs did and have the K's to show it. It was considered a feat to get a ground out against her(especially at 40'). From what I heard, her Dad was like most of us-a fixture at her games. It was good that he was able to see as many games as he was able to and that he was also close by at the end.

Great point- it is too common for the news to focus on bad deads and acts, I think it is far better to show real life examplse of good. It is important that peole that are going through adversity to know that thay are not alone and that it is possible to "drive on" and overcome
