NESCAC Championship

Everything you want to know about the greatest game

Tough day at the ballpark. Miserable conditions for both teams: high 40's, windy, off and on rain, muddy infield, wet ball. Tufts gets a lead-off HR to start the game but then nothing till the 4th. Williams ties the game at 1 in the top of the 4th but had bases loaded, nobody out and only got the 1 run. Bottom 4th, Tufts finally figures out the Williams pitcher after seeing her for 11 straight innings. Tufts puts 8 runs on the board capped off by back-to-back-to-back HR's. The one that Jo Clair hit was so high it burned up on re-entry. Each team got another run in the 5th and that was it.

Williams thinks they have a 50/50 shot at an at-large bid, so fingers are crossed for tomorrow. In spite of the outcome, it was a lot of fun. Always tough to see the seniors (and their parents) when they realize they may have played their last game...
