Like I said, I don't care what degree they seek as long as it it ends in a 3 letter word...JOB

Several of my daughter's classmates went to BYU, they got the MRS degree ;)

I am also happy to report that DD just passed her final FINRA licensing exams and now is legal to sell, trade, recommend securities in the US :D

Face it, in a lot of cases its not what you know, its who you know..

Someone I worked for had a different twist on that:

"It's not who or what you know. it's who knows what you know"

I can't put my daughters situation into a neat category. But she's working as a research assistant at Stanford Medical and wouldn't have been considered for the position if she didn't have her degree in biology. She will be going after her masters but....the school/program requires real life experience in the field, preferable two years of it. So...yes, she will be going to grad school but not directly until she gets the required experience. Yes, having the degree to get to this point and farther is/will be required. Yes, it was worthwhile getting the degree.

Faster, do you mind letting us know what college your daughter attended? Was that a big factor in her getting the research asst position at a school like Stanford?
