2011 Recruiting Update

Proposal 2010-42 was defeated on Jan 13th. In a nutshell, it was proposing no athletic aid could be offered until July 1st after a PSA's junior year. It would have also required 5 semesters completed and transcripts submitted before an offer could be made.

Other noteworthy items:
- Allowing unlimited telephone calls after the NLI signing was adopted.
- Allowing 1 call per month to a PSA after their soph year (June 15th) and 2 per week starting Aug 1 before PSA's senior year is in the comment period.

I agree something needs to be done, but the original proposal was not the correct move IMO. Happy it was defeated.

BTW, if you are a coach/mgr of a travel team and a NFCA member, they are requesting your opinions on what grade verbal commitments should be allowed, why, and any concerns on the process. PM me if you want his email. Rules/process will change on this subject, you may want some input! Whether or not it can be enforced is a different matter.
