iPhone & Android App for College Contacts

Questions and Discussions Regarding the College Recruiting process

by SoftballDad13 » Tue Mar 27, 2012 5:59 pm

I put together an iPhone app that contains all the DI, DII, and DIII college contacts (900+). It's a valuable tool for anyone searching for the right college to play softball. In addition, the app also contains links to the college's website and a google map of their location.

The name of the app is Softball University and it can be download from the App Store. :geek:

Wow, sounds like a really useful tool. Do you forsee keeping this information current from year to year, as coaches change?

Yes. I have a DD that's currently in the recruiting phase and another one that's a couple years away.

I gave it a try, it's only $1.99 after all. Format is good, its easy to use and read, etc.
My only concern would be with how often and extensively it's updated. But if you put a value on your time, this app is a winner.

Do you plan to continually add colleges? And how often will you be updating the info?

My only suggestion, would maybe allow people to change how they search. Currently you have DI, DII, and DIII. Could you allow people to search by State, or by Conference if they would prefer that over by Division?

Thanks for the suggestion. I am planning on adding a search button. I'll consider any inputs I get. In regards to the updates, I plan to update the database portion of this app around Aug/Sept every year.

An android version has just been submitted to Google Play. This version allows the user to search by State, Division and/or Name of school.
