College Coach Response/Lack of Response Question

Questions and Discussions Regarding the College Recruiting process

by Rebelwithkidz » Sat Jan 07, 2017 11:58 am

My daughter is a 2019 and has been diligently emailing coaches from about 40 schools she is interested in for several months now. Some schools email her back a camp invite/info, invite her to fill out their recruitment questionnaire or ask her to let them know her schedule. However some of the schools don't respond at all. Does she assume that those schools that don't respond at all are not interested? Should she keep emailing the ones that she gets no response from? I realize that some of the ones that do respond may be doing so to boost their camp enrollment etc. Thanks for your help.

Many schools are restricted in responding since your DD is a sophomore (i.e. NCAA D1 and D2). NCAA D3 and NAIA schools can respond freely. Looks like D2 opens up for 2019's on June 15 and D1 on September 1. Here are links to their recruiting guides:

- NCAA: http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/CBSA17.pdf

- NAIA: http://www.playnaia.org/d/NAIA_GuidefortheCollegeBoundStudent.pdf

In the mean time, coaches can talk freely on the phone if she calls them. however she has to reach D1 and D2 coaches since they are not allowed to call her back.

Thank you for your responses. I had her give her TB coach some college coaches to follow up with and have her working on calling.
