Its a large alligator gar. Common in southern waters - it resembles an alligator quite a bit - but not as aggressive. They look like a cross between an alligator and a northern pike. Only know two people that have been bit by one, me and another careless guy. This one was 6 foot 4, 115 lbs as I recall, they get up to around 300 lbs. They are supposedly edible, the meat is white but very chewy, my hispanic friends and relatives love them, they have a way of cooking them that makes them tender, well, tender to them.
What it has to do with softball, I cant come up with, but then the horse behind didnt have much to do with softball either.
